Today was an absolutely fantastic Friday hosting at the City Club by @Dan Fitzgerald. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert wine. Great job Dan!
The fourth of four Colgin’s served blind. My co-favorite. From the get-go, it was super concentrated, herbal, savory and just a hint of black fruit. Almost chewy in how dense it was. Smoky charcoal, wild herbs, cassis, and truffled blackberries. Still quite dry and tannic, even with the long decant. My initial, and final, guess was Colgin Syrah. Loved it. — 7 years ago

Agreed. Hop monster. Rounds nicely with hints of caramel. — 10 years ago
Very nice. I get a ton of floral notes and herbs. Hint of lemon and peppercorns. Very dry but with an obvious hop funk on the finish. — 6 years ago
Enjoyed this wine at Blind Dog in Park City. Outstanding Pinot Noir. Fruity and smooth. Only 32 barrels made so may not be easy to find, but if you find it, buy it! — 6 years ago
A blend of Straight Bourbon, Corn 🌽 Whiskey, Straight rye and a plush of 15 YO Olorosso Sherry. All the whiskies are at least 4 YO. Unique and flavorful. — 7 years ago
Stone IPA is a classic West Coast IPA from San Diego the Mecca of many great beers. This bold, hop forward IPA will never be mistaken for a more refined East Coaster. With its absolutely tantalizing hop bitterness, piney tones and vibrancy this is a big bold awesome IPA. If you like IPAs like I do add this to your list. Touring the many wonderful San Diego breweries is on my bucket list. @Bill Bender Bill this one is for you Cheers 🍻 — 8 years ago
Canned on 1/11/16. As usual, MUCH better enjoyed from a glass than from the can. I've had a number of these here now and have encountered quite a wide variation in the degree of juiciness and hop complexity, resulting in ratings in the range 9.1-9.6. Must have to do with freshness, as by far the best version has been on draft. — 10 years ago
I loved this wine! Great value from Hop City @ like $9. — 6 years ago
Surprisingly, I kinda liked this despite my aversion to overly-hopped beers. The nose is a straight up hop-bomb - floral, citrusy, piney. The palate's also full-on, with heaps of hoppy bitterness, but balanced by malty sweetness and tropical fruit notes (passionfruit and mango for me). Finishes crisp and earthy. Not bad, but not my kind of beer (not an IPA fan basically). — 7 years ago
Heck of a hosting by @Weston Eidson last night for the City Club wine group. All wines were tasted blind.
Cerebral and spectacular. Best Bordeaux I’ve had. A stunning showing at 19yrs young. I called this early 2000s Bordeaux but actually thought it was Right Bank...there is a gorgeous medley of soft and ripe dark blue and black fruit here. Not juicy, but more floral and expressive. Palate was lifted with fantastic structure and softened tannins (thanks to 4hrs in the decanter). Pipe tobacco but hardly any herbal or leather notes. The softness of this wine is what made it a star. Flavor without being dense. Co WOTN. — 7 years ago

Nelson Sauvin and cascade hops. Ultra dry. — 10 years ago
Wow! To date the best ginger beer that I've had. Spicy, smooth, not too sweet, and best of all it has alcohol in it! Definitely one to try if you're a fan of ginger beers or Moscow mules. — 10 years ago

Got this one from Hop City. Great summer wine. Had for date night with grilled pork chops. Fruity but not too sweet. — 6 years ago
