Laser acidity, but with a lot of depth. Grapefruit, lime, hints of tropical fruit that allude to a sweetness that is totally not there at all. Great length, too. — 8 years ago

Clean, crisp, sweet, tart, and vibrant minerals — 5 years ago
Light, lean and elegant. Roses and cherries, some citrus essence, stems, earth. My kind of PN — 6 years ago
Juicy, super long, nearly dry — 8 years ago
Most balanced, but least interesting of the cuvées. Still a great expression of true Mosel Riesling. — 9 years ago
Petroleum and perfumed tropical nose. Loaded with zesty orange flavors that go on forever. Smoky slate and apple notes on the finish. — 9 years ago
Austere (as expected), but appealingly schizo over four nights. Great for the dollars. — 10 years ago

Yum! This has the acid and minerals I need to survive on this planet — 13 years ago
My first 2019 Falkenstein. Similar to the few Falkenstein’s of previous vintages that I have consumed , the wine’s acidity takes front & center stage . A nose of lime , peaches and stone fruit put a smile on my face. In the mouth a structure that tickles your mouth like a lovers tongue. Just when you think sweetness might take over, the acidity behaves like a boxer who has their opponent on the ropes. A wave of minerals leave a long caressing finish in the mouth. — 5 years ago

Always love these reds by HF. Whites are truly lightning rods but the reds are just as nuanced with laser beam acids. Always feel guilty about drinking these wines because HF, which I believe initially started in 1989 have no back vintages. I would love to find some older HF wines though — 8 years ago

Clear, very pale almost water like. Very shy nose with withdrawn aromas of pomelo, grapefruit, white stone fruit, lemon zest and a strange, fresh goat cheese component which disturbs this clean & fresh picture of the nose a bit. On the palate this Kabinett shows an incredible tension, freshness and wonderful (high), vibrant, balanced acidity. The wine acts on a very dry level. Its an perfect Aperitif. Unbelievable salty finish.
There is quite a little hype in the German wine scene about these wines and already after one bottle I´m a fan too. Very focused, quite and drinkable stuff. Not a "in your face" wine. Elegance is the key-word here. — 9 years ago
Red fruit, bright acidity, mineral notes. So elegant #dryfarmwines — 9 years ago
