Talk about sexy! And the wine was great as well. My first post after a bit of a hiatus from Delectable. In San Diego for a meeting and was able to sneak away for a few sips. Thanks so much to @Bill Bender for generously making time to host me at his lair, perched high above the city looking down on the harbor, for great friendship, conversation, and of course, killer juice. The initial notes of stewed plums and spice blew off after a bit of time in the decanter, revealing layers of deep, rich voluptuous fruit and earthy minerals. Almost surprisingly youthful and powerful at 15, this will continue to evolve for a long time. One of my favorite Burgs. Thanks again, Bill!!! — 8 years ago

After a long hiatus from Vouvray, it was a pleasure trying something new. Reminiscent of a typical Vouvray Chenin at the start with green apple, stone fruit, and bright acids. The finish made it a wonderful dessert: slight honey notes with an unmistakable strawberries and cream. — 9 years ago
Good flavor, good body. Just not worth the price — 10 years ago
A staple in our house for many years. I quit buying it when the price point went North and did not justify the quality. But after a long hiatus, we tried it again. It's a good one. — 7 years ago
Possibly tasted batter than it is due to wine hiatus — 8 years ago

#1995 #Rinaldi #Barolo at #ElevenMadisonPark ... #Cheers Unfortunately this bottle was sleeping I believe. It was flat. I want to try another of this vintage in another 5 years & see where we are then... It Was still cool to taste and drink... 🍷❤️. But it's on hiatus at the moment 😴😴😴 — 9 years ago
Outstanding wine tastes like a Brunello it has this cherry character which was really a surprise to me. This is a great Bordeaux blend from Mark D. Well done! The 10 was part of a small vertical and of the 3 2010 to 2012 it was the best. Could be a European wine. Very elegant. — 9 years ago
Great Porto. Made me fall back in love with Porto wine after a long hiatus. Won't disappoint. — 10 years ago
Guess who's back? Back again? After my 6 week hiatus I come back with this monster. Washington state? What?! I thought they were only known for the Seahawks and Mariners. This wine is sonic (see what I did there?). — 10 years ago
After a long hiatus, revisiting Merlots from around the globe. — 11 years ago
After a little bit of a hiatus with my wife suffering from GI issues, I have been a little bit off my delectable game. This wine sort of re-centered me and brought me back into the game! First one in a while that I have wanted to post! What an incredibly rich and robust Cabernet. Oakville fruit, and you can taste the oak, blackberry, cinnamon, still extremely tannic. I cannot imagine rating a 2013 or 14 version of this wine, because I just don't think it's possible at this point. This one still needs an hour or two to open up, but is a 94 even after immediately pouring — 7 years ago
Paraiso is back! After a brief hiatus the Paraiso SLH is back, which for years was our go to mid-priced Pinot. Tart and spicy as always, you get dark cherry, strawberry, oak, and white pepper with a hint of the central coast minerals. Burnt notes and moderate acid linger through a long finish. Medium to light bodied, this is not the most complex SLH, but well balanced, smooth, and very approachable. — 8 years ago
If it's gonna be the last wine you enjoy before you take a 3 week hiatus.... #allthestops

Delicious Pinot - being from Oregon I've had a lot and I took a long hiatus from Pinot, this was the perfect bottle for our return. Velvety smooth, deep berry flavor and earthy. Ate with pan-fried chicken thighs, cabbage & turnips. — 10 years ago
Consistently good red blend. We've never had one we didn't enjoy. This 2008 has loads of juicy fruit. Mocha on the nose. — 10 years ago
Back in Napa after a long hiatus. I love this. Off-dry for a cab... Could probably go another 3-4 years. — 10 years ago

From a very recent disgorgement after a couple of years hiatus for this wine. Still extremely fresh in the bottle and tastes slightly sweeter than the 9gl/liter dosage at this stage. White cherry and almond along with the darker fruit profile from the 100% pinot noir (although this is completely pale). Nice now, but a couple years to chill in the bottle will help improve. — 7 years ago
