Great dessert wine! Golden and succulent. A tad sweet than the non dessert gewurtz #moorebrothers $26 — 7 years ago
Unfortunately slightly over the top with rather oxidised aromas. Still a very elegant wine — 9 years ago

Deep amber color with strong notes of stone fruit and honey to the nose and palate. Silky and rich on the way down with a long finish. This was a fabulous wine — 4 years ago

Pleasant bitterness with all the telltale signs of this grape. — 5 years ago
Amazingly Chambolle-like. From red clay/limestone of Hengst. Cinnamon, aniseed, floral. As fine as Alsace Pinot can be. #barmesbuecher #pinotnoir #alsace — 8 years ago
Acacia + pure, vinous sap + marzipan + electric acidity. Hengst is French for stallion, and this fits the bill. Superior! — 9 years ago
Such a lovely piece from Alsace, minerals, petroleum, green apples... — 9 years ago
Waxy and petrolic, rich texture but without sweetness. Difficult on its own but with lamb curry really stood up. Really interesting wine — 9 years ago

Riesling from the Hengst grand cru in Wintzenheim, about 5 miles west of Colmar. Biodynamically farmed vineyards. Lean, precise, elegant with citrus, flowers and hints of rubber on the nose. On the palate there is some grapefruit. Powerful, dry, mineral. Nice saline aftertaste. — 4 years ago
