The first of a great line up of wines at SingleThread Restaurant in Healdsburg (CA).
Those guys in my opinion are worthy of 3 stars when the Michelin guide will release their official US ratings next week.
As for the wine - one of the best domestic sparklers I've ever had! — 8 years ago
Great Pinot from Healdsburg. Somewhat fruity but balanced. — 9 years ago
This 2003 vintage offers a genuine Knights valley Cabernet Sauvignon at 13.8% alc by Hawkes vineyard in Healdsburg, California. Aromas and palate of plum, red ripe field berries, medium tannins and acidity, baking spices, caramel butterscotch and well integrated tannins with the fruit. This full bodied wine is approachable in its own and also pairs well with lasagna, steak frites or your favourite dish. — 10 years ago
First stop on our MD trip this year was to Aperture Cellars in downtown Healdsburg.
First of the single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings we tasted at Aperture Cellars with Lauren.
Deep ruby red. Layered nose with ripe berries, dark cocoa, tobacco leaves, leather and cinnamon with an earthy undertone. Medium plus tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Lots of fall spices on the palate with some dark cocoa and blackberries. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2032.
Tasted at the tasting room and retails for $95.00.

From Healdsburg. Very smooth, tasty. Not very floral. — 9 years ago
Very nice Russian river Pinot- as I would envision. Good fruit . Cassis, blueberry cranberry. Light and balanced earthiness and just a hint of mint at the end. I love this wine! By the way the tasting room in near healdsburg is worth a stop! — 9 years ago
Locals doing a mighty fine job. I bet this takes over the wells in town — 10 years ago

Great merlot at a good price. — 7 years ago
Made an impromptu stop at Stonestreet the last time we were in Napa/Sonoma. Had a little unexpected time between tastings. Man it was sure HOT when we were there in September. I remember the estate was in great condition. Beautiful scenery and some of the views from eastern Healdsburg and Geyserville are hard to beat. It was about 95 degrees AT THE WINERY in the middle of a Napa heat wave. This wine hit the spot. A nice, crisp, lighter bodied wine with a crisp side to it, yet didn't feel as though your tongue was burning. Edges on this one were rounded even from the start. More of a lemon curd, but also some lime and honeysuckle. Middle had good weight, a little silkier than I had anticipated. The finish is lighter, mostly lemon and lime. Not a powerhouse, but was really nice on that 95 degree September "summer" day in Healdsburg, and pretty darn good tonight. — 7 years ago
A refreshing bottle for certain, however the age has softened considerably the once crisp acid which is much more subdued now. Beautiful and light oak notes, vanilla cream soda, hint of butterscotch toffee, caramel and lash tropical fruits. At 276 cs production it's nearly impossible to find outside of his Healdsburg tasting room our private allocation. Absolutely delicious and just what the doctor ordered after a day on the beach to wash away the salt water residue. — 9 years ago
3rd course at the Matthiasson "Taste of Place" dinner at Shed, Healdsburg. Wouldn't have thought to pair Merlot with Chicken, but with the Charred Chicories and earthy Shelling Beans, this was amazing. Just a gorgeous wine with great fruit and tremendous balance. Overall a great evening. — 9 years ago
One of my new favorites. Perfectly paired with a strawberry and blueberry pie from Noble Folk in Healdsburg, CA. Fresh fruit galore in this bottle! — 10 years ago
