NOSE: mild, cooked fruit, a little carob. Inoffensive but not especially inviting.
TASTE: cooking spices, chicory, ash, a little bitter —unsweetened minerally dark chocolate - red fruit barely present and dried. Very balanced and elegant. This is going to kill with the herb roasted chicken I’m about to eat. 91. — 3 months ago

Smells amazing, tastes great, takes me back for some reason. — 6 months ago
NOSE: Crayola, cranberry, a flower I can’t quite place, meat, iron, blood orange, raspberry. All light and receded … but color me intrigued!
TASTE: lovely lightweight Bordeaux - red fruit and floral flavors are muted but pleasant and elegantly “integrated.” “Feminine” is the right word. I love it! 91. — 6 months ago
So silky smooth and yummy. Highly reccommend. — 9 months ago
Bright scarlet tawny. Mostly opaque. Candied fruit nose. Notes of strawberry, cherry kirsch, sandalwood and some. A bit masculine in its impact, which is different than not so long ago. Still has a silky texture in the mouth and all the pleasure zones. Seems young but is rather luscious right now. — 4 years ago

Good freshness. Not a bruiser. Nimble with food. Lovely wine for the price. — 2 months ago

The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very elegant bouquet of red berry fruit, briar, crushed stone and rose petal, and is, so it turns out, Very Rousseau-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins, a silver bead of acidity and plenty of energy, with wonderful tension and verve toward the finish. This is a Charmes-Chambertin with great pedigree and will give many years of drinking pleasure. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, December 2023)

Fantastic budget Bordeaux. 2nd timing having it and feel much the same. — 4 years ago
Super floral, super delicious. Serve chilled. — 9 years ago
quintessential Meursault, still taut and very refined, loads of lemon and lemon zest, nuts, and minerals. Detonated on the palate with a finish that seems to last forever. Great wine. Much better than the oxidized half bottle of 96 Dauvissat Forest I opened first and couldn't drink. I don't assign numerical ratings though this site insists. — 9 years ago
Delicious Haut-Medoc Bordeaux, with dark fruit notes and silky tannin, served at family dinner in Toronto — 2 months ago
Full bodied, dense, deep ruby Bordeaux. On the nose: dark mulberry fruit, cedar, & a touch of eucalyptus/camphor. On the palate: dark fruit, cedar and light tannins. After 40 minutes decanted the tannins recede and the soft fruit is delicious. This wine is fully mature and a terrific offering from Medoc. If you have it or can get it, drink now and enjoy! — 3 months ago
Old lady holding her own very well. Mellowed but still lovely. — 3 months ago
Lemon color and has a clean smell of lemon and apple. Very balanced taste of pone fruits and citrus just like the smell. Enjoyable, strong body and finish. — 5 months ago

Alessandro Dalle Carbonare
It has something really unique as always. But it’s so austere this year. A wine that really will need time to be enjoyed at its fullest.
