Inky color. Wine club members only. Upfront berries and plums and a hint of leather. Big bold tannins. Very dry and tannic all the way. Not for the timid. โ 7 years ago
This Columbia Valley Chard is fruit forward and restrained on the oak. It has a hint of creaminess, not much, and no butter. The taste is honeysuckle with muted lemon citrus. It really is a versatile food wine, but even on a chilly day, it works as a cocktail sipper. Consider this a Chardonnay for Chardonnay haters ๐ธ โ 8 years ago
I bought this bottle of Vin Perdu (or โlost wineโ) from the Costco in Humble a week before Hurricane Harvey. That Costco received four feet of water. The wine guy told me they threw out every single bottle of wine, even everything up in the steel. So happy I was able to save this lost wine from being lost. Blackberry preserves, chocolate, toast, menthol, and leather. Delicious. โ 8 years ago
Don't be fooled by the recent rush of French wines to grace my palette. Those who know me know that I like to keep a Toscana or a Brunello around for good measure. But then @Kyle Harvey put the hard sell on Etna wines so I gave it a shot. From this point on, I will forever be on the lookout for more. The volcanic terroir and sun soaked mountainside make for the perfect climate to produce an exceptional wine. Comprised of 80% Mascalese and 20% Cappucio, the wine is remarkably well structured with loads of nuance. Fruits abound and silky tannins make this #Etna a banger. โ 9 years ago
Nearing the end of a 23 day cruise, heading to Muscat, Oman tomorrow. Not the best wine I brought but enjoyable. โ 10 years ago
Now this one, this one has something to say, and baby, I'm listening. The subtle nose of rich cherry and untamed spice is released, amplified upon the palette. This wine only gets better as it breathes. Blindly leaving behind my affinity for the IGT, my early forays into the DOC have proven rewarding. @Kyle Harvey i don't use this as often as @Scott Petrus but this is a true #qprsuperstar โ 10 years ago

Great aromas and flavors of strawberries, plums, and raspberries. โ 5 years ago
Lovely fleshy notes on the palate with ultra silky yet persistent tannins. A little cold from the cellar. Beautiful texture - easy to love. I can see why Robert Parker gave this 100 points. Not overly Cabernet in a varietal sense but a rich, textured delicious wine still with a latent core giving at least another 5 years. Although I notice Harvey Steiman had a short drinking window through to only 2017. I bought this in the USA years ago when my son was at College - never seen it for sale in Australia. โ 7 years ago
I really liked this! Very smooth! โ 8 years ago
Great Nebbiolo always surprises me in its ability to be brooding and powerful yet delicate. Floral and tobacco on the nose combine with blue and red fruit with light tar and smoke notes through a lengthy finish. Great balance. From magnum @Kyle Harvey โ 8 years ago
This is my Hurricane Harvey wine. After being housebound by flooding for 6 days I decided to open this gem from Morlet which shows all the classic Knight's Valley character I love. It is a treasure of cassis, black currants, incense and sandalwood, tar and menthol. Black pepper and spice box. The palate is a layered as is the nose, with a succulentdark fruit core framed with understated, fine,, mouthcoating tannins. 15.0% alcohol โ 9 years ago
Fabulous Pinto noir, blackcurrant and wonderful depth. 3 bottles, Xmas 2016, drank first on 2nd Jan after Jackie. โ 9 years ago
A Scott Harvey masterpiece. โ 10 years ago
Grenache is my favourite varietal and Harvey did not disappoint. A fantastic wine that will get much better with age. โ 11 years ago

Scanning the wine list, I settled on this Nebbiolo varietal from the Piedmont region. While the Nebbiolo is better known for the much higher-end barolos, this wine holds its own for about half the price. It's elegant and fruity with notes of tar and tobacco beneath the bright cherry and slightly citric overtones. We loved this wine so much, we decided to get another bottle. It could potentially use a few more years before it reaches peak drinkability but if you can't wait, you won't be disappointed. @Kyle Harvey โ 10 years ago
