A wonderful Sauvignon Blanc with vibrant acidity laced with herbaceous notes. Grapefruit, gooseberry and lychee flavors suck your palate dry making you crave another sip. — 10 years ago
Very pale yellow glass with a green tinge. Passion fruit, grapefruit, green apple, and a hint of gooseberry and white peach tinged with lime on a medium nose . On a strong crisp acidic charge to the palate of grapefruit and grass with a lime undertone. Long finish of tart grapefruit and a lasting minerality. Very good value at $11.98 USD and works well with fish or as a sipper. Palate can't live up to the nose due to dominance of the minerality but still a very enjoyable glass. — 10 years ago
A pale clear straw, the '13 Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc, is another classic NZ-style SB. Big gooseberry and grapefruit aromas followed by tart citrus and pear flavors with some salty mineral notes. Velvety textured mouth with prolonged finish. Paired perfectly with our Creamy Parmesan Chicken Pasta entrée. — 10 years ago
Love, love, love this Sancerre! The nose declares Sauvignon Blanc - herbal notes predominate. The palate is balanced by the addition of gooseberry and lime flavors. An incredible pairing with grilled swordfish with a Mediterranean salt rub of rosemary, lemon and lavender. Blissful. — 12 years ago
This wine is so delicious. I can't get over the smell and taste of gooseberry! A very interesting flavor, but leads me to an extra sip. Some additional flavors Are lemon (citrus) maybe tangerine, and maybe some grassy/herby flavor. I will be getting this again. — 9 years ago
Extremely layered but delicate nose lets you know you are in for a treat. There's no kick of gooseberry or cat pee, funk or wool. Instead, a great balance between the signature gun smoke, flint and lit match, layered with extra clean lemon, lime, and grapefruit. Palate is rich and round, full of citrus fruit and a stream of acidity. — 9 years ago
Lots of gooseberry, and I feel the citrus is riper and moving towards tangerine with some asparagus chiming in in the background. The acid is a bit restrained but works well with the overall balance — 10 years ago
Pale straw colour with green hue. Citrus, gooseberry and fresh grass aromas with green apple and passion fruit notes. Ripe citrus and gooseberry on palate with balanced acids. Long savoury finish. Very nice. — 10 years ago

Good citrus notes, not too overtly gooseberry. Great refreshing acidity - fruit driven, drinking now. Gorgeous. Just add sunshine. — 11 years ago

Always a winner. Crisp citrus with that gooseberry note so typical of Malbourough. Others similar are Nobilo, Starbourough and Oyster Bay.

Clear medium crisp lemon colour. Clean medium plus intensity developing aroma with elegant gooseberry and hint of melon and peach. Dry on the palate medium bodied medium alcohol high acidity with smooth complex flavours of stone fruit and sweet grass. Long refreshing finish. Very good quality, drink now but can possibly age a bit more. — 11 years ago

This is the last of 4 bottles I bought 3 years ago. With age, the grassy, gooseberry Sauvignon character has receded and there is a crystalline minerality taking its place. Almost Chablis- like. Still great acids and freshness. Delicious. — 8 years ago
