Tastes really good tonight. Showing more of the right kind of oxidative notes I enjoy.

Golden & green apple, braised pear, overripe pineapple, lemon, lime juice, nougat, some apple cider, vanillin, yeast, bread dough & crust, sea fossils, grey volcanics, limestone, white spice, gentle, powdery chalkiness, micro oxygenation, excellent with spring flowers, yellow flowers & withering white lilies. Excellent acidity. The finish is rush, smartly balanced, elegant and persistent. — 6 years ago

This Pa brewery is rocking my world. Close my eyes and taste this, and I drift back to my time when I lived in Waterloo, Brussels. Label says 9.5% abv, but it’s tucked in nicely. Woody notes on the palate, with cardamom, cloves and licorice. Heart-warming as it slips down the hatch. Well done! — 7 years ago

Note : A Blanc de Blanc? This one is wonderful! A greed from the beginning to the end. A golden robe, a toasty nose, apricot and citrus, a roundness in the mouth with a superb balance of aromas.

Sushi and Champagne is one of my favorite combinations. Indeed, almost all celebrations that @Cara Zimmerman and I enjoy together will include this duo. This was somewhat of a step up from our norm as Sushi Zo is a world apart from our usual delivery order of tuna and salmon rolls (with free edamame). Likewise this 1975 DP was rather more elevated than our weekly fizz.

Dark golden color with rich, brioche and mature elements. A touch too advanced but enormously attractive and retaining terrific purity and energy. Sushi and Champagne has rarely been such a treat. — 9 years ago

Do love #Tondonia Viña Gravonia 05' blanco #crianza it's the nuts, it smells of nuts and stewed apples and almonds & has a liquid mineral core with waxy lemon, golden syrup, Mr. Tom bars (remember them?), also smells of honey, acacia, toffee popcorn & lemon oil. Has a wonderfully fat palate with a chewy nuttiness along with rich lemon rind, peach & apricots (specially the skins), juicy, long and complex finish. Works great with fish (tonight with smoked haddock in a cheddar & chive sauce, butter braised samphire, edamame & butter bean salad with giant couscous n feta) — 11 years ago
