Light violet color. Earthy soil and roasted corn on the nose. Medium acidity. Dry. Alcohol. Light to medium body. Berries and subtle vanilla. Some bite on the aftertaste. It's a good value. 1.5L for 9 bucks? No complaints. — 9 years ago
Fresh, bit of mild peat, very, very good for the money. Would be a great 'house' Scotch! — 10 years ago
A great low cost Cab. Far better than price might suggest. — 11 years ago
Bought in 1985 at combo tasting room (shared w Smothers & others) in Glen Ellen area, I remember it was a tannic monster then. Lost in cellar, tasted 2014. Fantastic!! All that a great Cal cab (tasted like Alexander Valley) should be - cedar dust, perfect balance between structure and, yes, Fruit! Not all pruny either, some fresh also. Wish wish wish I had more. Wonder what happened to the vineyard? — 11 years ago

What an extraordinarily youthful wine for a 1978. Tastes initially like an 8 year old wine. Balanced tannins. Rich nose and palate and moderately long finish. Black currents and earth. Lovely, and has many more years to go. — 10 years ago
