Still amazing fruit- years left in this wine — 8 years ago
Saw last name Glaetzer as co-winemaker and realized why I was enjoying this Aussie cab so much. Hadn't had anything by him in a while. Wonderful dark fruit and chocolate. Very velvety and great price! — 9 years ago
Full disclosure. I'm a big fan of Ben Glaetzer. That said, with all that fruit, spice and nice finish for $15, I can't score it under 9.0 — 9 years ago
Deep red Pinot, cherry nose but savoury and earthy palate. Nice acid. Perfect with our truffle risotto.

Tastes like it could be from Napa, lovely oak and vanilla with a complexity that keeps opening with air — 6 years ago
Pretty nice pinot, on the thicker side, reminds me of zinfandel. Dried dark cherry and almonds. Cherries linger in the aftertaste. — 7 years ago
Well I dunno about previous years but wow the 2016 is great. Massive hit of strawberry upfront but enough backbone that I like it more than some of the Nouveau's I've had. So good in the warm weather! — 7 years ago
Intense red purple in appearance. Berry, mint pepper on the nose. Very smooth blackberry dark chocolate on the palate. Very nice. — 8 years ago
Honeysuckle, lime, lemon, seashells and slight flor-sherry like characteristics. Off dry, good line and length with a slightly saline feel to it. — 8 years ago

Deep garnet colour. Dusky spicy fruit aromas. Savoury and spicy on the tongue definite strong tannins. Enjoyable but looking forward to cellaring this for a while. — 8 years ago
Super rich and extracted. Big tannins still after three years in barrel and 7+ years in bottle. Down Under dust, gonna be great with these ribeyes. — 9 years ago

Firstly to explain the label. 24 years ago when I was Wine Chairman at the Downs Club I copied the Yalumba concept of honouring people who had done a great job for the company. 8 years ago the Club decided to honour the contribution of my brother Mike - hence this label. Prior to Mike there have been 8 ex Presidents recognised in this way. The Wine itself is a 2008 Glaetzer Heartland Shiraz from Langhorne Creek. This is the 11th bottle of a dozen and easily the best. Medium bodied with M - Tannins and Acid. Mature plum and chocolate flavours. Interestingly the back label says cellar for up to 5 years!! What do they know! This over delivers in spades at 10 years of age. A wonderful surprise. I will leave the last one for a family occasion. — 6 years ago
