Earthly and leathery. — 2 years ago
Hoped this would be more balanced and giving, but the rustic NSG nature sneaks through. — 3 years ago
Plush and open. Soft plummy fruit with a herbaceous undertow. Surprisingly settled and open right now. Very good. — 5 years ago
Jeunes vignes de Ruchottes Chambertin. Tout en fruit, eclatant et soyeux. Suave et gourmand . N'a pas la meme profondeur que le grand vin par contre. — 7 years ago
Pale gold color. Nose of lemon grass and the ocean. Bright acidity, lemon zest, grapefruit, balanced with honey and minerality. Enjoyable and a good pairing with clams. — 8 years ago
Very oaky and fruity, body. — 9 years ago
Delicious, made wonderful sangria — 10 years ago
Blackberry, floral, black cherry, so deep and almost Syrah like nose. Syrah/Pinot hybrid. Elegant, sappy and pure. Classic Girard balance. Smooth even though I hate this word. So fresh with ripe tannins but provide terrific structure and depth. — 9 months ago
Love this!! Amazing for the price — a year ago
Earth, mushroom, ripe pear and apple. M body and M+ finish. Lemon zest. All about "terroir" — 9 years ago
Color is a bit pale, almost looks like aging wine, but the taste proves the opposite—extremely light, open, drinkable bottle. Lots of oak, cherry and tobacco. Tannic, but in a pleasant way. I wouldn't like this wine on any other day, but tonight it turned out to be the perfect choice for lighter Burgundy. — 9 years ago
My favorite Pernand 1er Cru. Classic nose of dark cherry fruit, brambly berry fruit, wild mint, spearmint, desiccated leaves, sous bois and citrus rind. Very complex and pure. So Fichots. Grippy, gritty, silky and dense with dark cherry fruit and forest floor inner mouth aromas and silky but substantial tannins. Needs air. Wonderful. As this airs the tannins smooth out and the energy increases as does the length.

This was a surprise. The body was lighter than I expected, the nose practically busting with forest floor and dusty ripe red fruits, dusty tannins, but for this meal it paired perfectly. Drank at Arnaud’s in New Orleans. #pinotforpresident — 2 years ago
Nice color and enticing nose of autumnal forest and notes of overripe red fruits. A bit acidic on palate and medium finish. May have waited too long but still a nice wine for the very large Turkey wings! — 3 years ago
Excellent mature but not over the hill Bourgogne rouge. Big improvement from my last off bottle — 5 years ago
Bacchanal, light fruity — 6 years ago
Fruit first, second and third. Then structure, I could make this a lifestyle wine ;) — 9 years ago

2011 vintage. Open (not decanted) and tasted after two hours. Fresh as a daisy. Tremendous power and finesse with a finish lasting over a minute. Insignificantly small amount of silty sediment. No rush to crush. Really gorgeous stuff. 12.8.23. — 5 months ago
