Gigantic nose. Perfume. Forest floor. Bold flavored fruit. What a great experience. — 9 years ago
Not my usual fare, but actually quite nuanced and delicious. Expected a gigantic fruit bomb, and was delightfully surprised by what I got. — 10 years ago
Gigantic Cali zin. — 10 years ago
Gigantic, tooth staining, Cabernet. I am still in a bit of shock and awe. — 10 years ago
Big red? More like gigantic Gigondas — 11 years ago
A very successful 2003! This bottle was extraordinarily bold and rich, with gigantic currant flavors and aromas. Yet, the back end was still refreshing and gravelly, making it a fine partner to the bone-in Piemontese ribeye that chef Marco prepared. I am so happy to live so close to the Four Seasons and Quattro... Friday night uncorked is the best! — 11 years ago
One of the very best wines I've ever had. Gigantic, concentrated fruit bomb, great balance, chewy. — 12 years ago
2001 Feudi Serpico
even though a 2001 this wine was super tight and closed. gigantic tannin structure and not much else. I quadruple decanted it and got a pulse. I put it aside for 24 hours and I had a beautiful living breathing wine. how crazultly is that. go knows when it will be ready to drink but I would guess another 10 years. if you are willing to open it a day or even two before you drink it you will be rewarded. that is the good news. — 9 years ago
A gigantic wine. The nose and the tongue are divorced, if they integrated better this wine would be rated higher. The alcohol is the fist thing that hits you. It's breathless and blunt. But let it settle and it's quite lovely. Pomegranate and cranberry are bright and beautiful. The acidity zings. In the mouth this is all Dogliani. — 9 years ago
The Ferrari-Carano Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2012 is an incredibly dark wine, almost black when held to the light. Its appearance led me to expect a gigantic, ripe, imposing, blammo nose to explode in my face like a loaded cigar. What else from a deep, dark Zinfandel? The nose is not at all blustery, though. It is elegant. Blackberry fruit is ripe, to be sure, but the nuances of sage, cinnamon, pepper and basil play lightly across the olfactory nerve endings.
On the palate, the expectations are met. Flavors of black plums, cherries and dark berries don't even try to be subtle. There is black pepper galore and enough minerals to allow me to skip my multi-vitamin in the morning. The juicy acidity needs to be paired with some meat, and fast. A hearty mouthfeel and bold tannins round out a great wine to have with a thick, juicy steak. — 10 years ago
Stunning wine from a very good vintage . 2004 Petrolo Galatrona is a gigantic wine, complex , structured , and in highly intense. This 100% merlot could stand side by side with Petrus . — 11 years ago
A gigantic hefty brute of a Riesling vs the Mosel I typically imbibe...petrol, lemonade and honey briefly on the midpalate. Pretty darned tasty. — 11 years ago
Gigantic wine worthy of Thanksgiving — 9 years ago
Williams & Humbert "Dos Cortados" Palo Cortado. Intense aromas of kelp, sunbaked seashore, toasted walnuts, with notes of crushed oyster shells, Champagne, and baked apples. Smooth texture, very dry. Gigantic finish. It gets a 99 because it's Sherry, and I can't drink too much or tomorrow will suck like nuclear war. — 9 years ago
Gigantic. Concentrated. Drank over two days. Port qualities noticeable on day 1, too much on day 2. Raisins, of course and so many spices on day 1. Some sour cherry, some leather too. So much balanced so well. Long, long, long finish. — 10 years ago
Gigantic nose. Nice dark fruit, gritty and mildly tannic. Still has a few few tears left. — 10 years ago
Gigantic wine. Still a baby. — 10 years ago
Beautiful oak integration! The subtlety of Viongier brings an added depth of complexity and smoothens this gigantic wine, which happens the size of the Pacific. — 11 years ago
Paired with one of the best pieces of tuna I have ever eaten at Quattro. This is the richest Chardonnay I have ever loved! Gigantic, Montrachet like stuff! Everything was concentrated, including the excellent acidity. Wow! — 11 years ago
GIGANTIC ANTICIPATION for this over the next decade, couldn't help myself to 1 of 12 now it's time to patiently wait! — 12 years ago

1+ hour decant is definitely needed. If you can't guess this is French from the nose, better drink a lot more wine! Not much fruit, but gigantic olive and coriander flavors, supplement an overall earthiness that makes you feel like you are walking through a mature vineyard in France. The wine caresses the palate nicely, and has an insanely long finish. Drinking quite nicely now, but you have to like old school French wines! — 9 years ago
