Delicious, all brioche and delight. Perhaps a touch sweet for my taste, but then I like ‘em beyond bone dry. Will be getting more and stashing it away. — 9 years ago
I picked this up back in 2010 in Argentina! It aged well — 9 years ago
Från samma vingård som Veritas. Guiden beskrev den som "Summer in your mouth", men var inte med i provningen. Kan bara hålla med henne, superfräsch! — 10 years ago
From last week (purchased at the winery in Mendoza in 2011). Really interesting flavor profile, with soft, integrated tannins. Definitely on the downslope, but still really good (and went great with the Snake River Farms Waygu Flat Iron steak I grilled for dinner!). — 6 years ago

Nice tasty mid-priced garnacha — 7 years ago
I am very surpirised with this wine. Modern taste, french oak, blackberry, blueberry notes , strong but nice tannins — 8 years ago
Elegant wine Achaval Ferrer use to offer only high priced wine when I visited the winery in Mendoza in 2011. Now they do also more affordable wines in the 29 dollar range, Cab and Malbec. Worth a detour — 9 years ago
A Syrah from Mendoza...I had my doubts, but we were tasting some great wines at this winery, Malbec and Cab Franc. It is amazing what some of the wineries in Mendoza are doing with Cab Franc. Back to the Syrah, we didn’t taste it but they urged me to get it as they thought I be surprised. And I was! Given the heat and the stress in Mendoza I thought it be drinking more like a Shiraz. It didn’t. It was vibrant, full bodied, spicy and potent tannins that evolved in your mouth giving it great complexity. Dark unripe blackberry infused with pipe tobacco. — 5 years ago
Molt bon Priorat, entrada potent, amb cos i llarg regust. Agradable en nas. Els tanins controlats. 60€ at Vinacoteca. — 6 years ago
Love this. Everything I look for in a Malbec — 7 years ago
I never knew a bubbly love like this. It’s beautiful (pink color), fresh and fruity. Pinot noir, grapes blended to perfection with a touch of Chardonnay. Dry like I prefer my rosé. Festive! How fitting that I enjoyed it with a new bubbly friend. Shout out to @bubbles_n_bourbon on IG. #badandboozypod #winehoes — 8 years ago
Beautiful roundness. Mature red fruits and minerality with great acidity. Medium bodied. Delicious.
Side note, used a RePour cork after having one glass, let the bottle sit for 3 days before reopening, and the wine was still incredibly delicious/the same as the day I opened it. — 9 years ago
Pear and nutmeg. I don't drink Chardonnay at all, and I liked this. — 9 years ago
I think this is our ultimate GF bubbly! — 10 years ago

STORAGE is everything.
Correct storage does not magically enlighten all wines, but it enables you to wait until such time that wines crafted with proper parts and proper technique will offer you a higher level of enjoyment.
Our final bottle of this 2003 vintage, purchased in May 2006 for $31 as Achával-Ferrer was beginning their ascension to greatness, with pricing to match.
Decanted 4H.
Similar notes to prior experiences:
Nose has ripe plum, graphite, dried black cherry, dried tart cherry, old leather, dried black currant, slight eucalyptus, dark chocolate, stewed raisin, mashed blackberry, faint chalkboard dust and dried rose.
Palate has sweet prune, semi-sweet chocolate, dried black cherry, sweet-roasted red pepper, dried boysenberry, briar and dry earth. Fine tannins, rich and round the on the finish.
Stellar show on our finale of the vintage...Looking forward to the 2004's. I previously stated this bottle could likely make a 20th birthday in proper storage, looks like it can only make a ~19th birthday in this cellar.
