Magnum 1999 Domaine G. Roumier Bonnes Mares burgundy. Big group lunch at The I while B&M Sh were visiting. Drank this after the 3L Gaja Barbaresco and glad we did- more complex, deeper in flavor, and bigger. This wine was absolutely perfect. Needed quite a bit of time to open up. Had that slight sweetness, but not overly so. Lots of fruit. Exactly how K enjoys a burgundy. Big wine and could definitely hold for quite a while longer. — 9 years ago
1999 DRC Grands Echezeaux. Boy G at HB w B&K K. Tight at first, but hoped it would open up. It did, but unfortunately, that only made the wine slightly better. It is just going through a funky phase. K noted that it wasn't the first time we thought that abt this vintage recently and should hold off until it comes back around. — 9 years ago
Terrific nose, full tannins, and b-i-g. Drink with food! Love this! — 9 years ago
For under $10 (Winn Dixie) surprisingly large on the center palate with some butter and oak. Good balance, short but pleasant finish. About as good as you'll find an everyday little brother to the B I G Calif Chards I love. — 10 years ago

This is a lovely wine from one of the masters of premier and grand Cru Chablis, Patrick Pizza. Lean, cleanly mineral on the nose, crisp well-balanced acidity in the mouth. Great wines by the glass at B&G Oysters — 8 years ago
One of my favorite dinners was on the menu here at Chez Skip - cassoulet! And my knowledge of wine pairing is as sophisticated as a toddler eating spaghetti, I said to myself - hey I am eating French food and I like this French wine, so hey why not? And that was that. But as wine can be, it evoked its memory of when I had it first. I remember sitting out in the patio and being impressed with it. I thought to myself I could really enjoy French wines, but as history has shown, that was clearly a short lived notion.
Knowing it had been some time, I had an odd feeling, so I checked my Delectable history. Indeed, this was the very first wine I had rated!
So, to my friends, do you remember your first wine on here? Was it anything memorable? @philip Angino @Martin A. 2001 Dominus CS. Boy G at HB w B&K K. Drank this after the '99 Grands Echezeaux. Total gear shift, but unlike the previous wine, this drank as we had hoped. Interesting comp to the '97 Sassicaia, which was our fave of the night. This was super green and I guess we all just favored the flavors of the Italian. — 9 years ago
Balanced good wine for it's price. When you look for unrecognised chateaux within it price range, better take B&G instead. — 9 years ago
En mag. B&G Christmas party at Table No. 10. Amazing aromatics, tight after an hour in the decanter, opened up well at 1.5. Mocha, cassis, cherry. Very well done but still young. — 10 years ago
Vidonia Listan Blanco. White wine from Canary Islands! Blind taste during dinner at Press w J&A C, B&Ver G, and K. We all thought it was an aged Chardonnay. Lovely. Round and deep and great to drink. Super interesting and would love to find again! — 11 years ago
Nice Chardonnay from B&G - good as apperative and together with snacks. — 11 years ago

I have known for years that Paso Robles makes great wine. This is an excellent example of what perfect weather, abundant water and great soils can produce. Deep rich dark fruit and extremely fine silky tannins! @Paul T @Ron R @Jim Trobaugh @Bill Bender @Jacqueline @Eric Shanks @Connor McMahon @Martin G Rivard — 8 years ago
1999 Hubert Lignier Clos de la Roche burgundy. Dinner at The G w J&L B and B&K K. Big wine dinner, starting with a 1958 Borgogno and followed by this wine. We decanted this immediately upon being seated and let it breathe for a good hour before pouring. Still huge and a little tight at first, but opened up pretty quickly in the glass. Just got better and better. Big hit. — 8 years ago
2013 Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay. Boy G at HB w B&K K. Was as we thought it would be. Love. — 9 years ago

Medium ruby core with garnet edges. Aged characteristics on the nose with damp earth, a little espresso, a touch smoky, cinnamon and stewed plums. Medium tannins (6/10) and plus medium body. Dark cocoa on the attack of the palate intermingled with plums, black currants, black cherries and lots of spices. A bit of anise and the Petit Verdot coming through in the medium plus finish. Drink till 2018.
