A delicious '89 for my friend on her 25th! Fragrant nose of dark cherries, licorice and floral notes. A full bodied, amazingly textured and elegant wine with impeccable concentration. Spice, burnt oak, black currant, cedar and earth. Such a fresh, vivacious 20 something. — 11 years ago

I was not blessed with the greatest birth vintage for Bordeaux (1991), but luckily my dear friend fared better (1989). Red currant, raspberry coulis, cedar, and graphite - the wine is still so fleshy, round and clean, nowhere near as tertiary as I'd expected going into the evening. It's structured, but also rather open knit after a quick decant. I hope to taste this Latour again in the coming years - as I believe it has many stories yet to tell. This beautiful 2005 cab was an anniversary gift from a great friend of mine @Jeff Savigny The vintage is the year we got married. The nose is so complex and yet so subdued, it practically blew my mind. A nose full of roses, tobacco, dark fruit and licorice with a hint of molasses and vanilla. On the palate very dry, with a faint aged acidity, yet very rich and delicious. You can spend just as much time smelling this as drinking it. This was a near perfect wine and a great anniversary present! — 11 years ago

History of OFC dates back to 1995 when on a lark, David Swift Phinney took a friend up on an offer and went to Florence, Italy to spend a semester “studying”. During that time, he was introduced to wine, how it was made, and got hooked. A Grenache, Syrah and Petite Sirah blend. Aromas of fresh ripe red fruits with sweet spice. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry, cacao and espresso notes with sweet savory tannins, well balanced on lingering finish ending with toasty oak and sweet fruit. — 8 years ago
