Nothing like a good bottle of claret after a long hike w/friend. Dont seem to think was a good vintage but w/a good maker—-drinking nicely now. Black currants, cassis, gritty tannins, acidic lift but all integrated. Decant/ pour carefully — 8 years ago
Delicious, very drinkable off-dry reisling. Paired with a summer salad. — 9 years ago

Wow!! Fantastic farmer fizz. Seriously hits all the right Champagne notes for me. Nose is concentrated and generous with rich toasted nuts, fresh croissant, baked yellow apple, and a truckload of crushed chalk. The palate surprises with much more precision than the richer nose might indicate, which I LOVE and makes for a really interesting juxtaposition. Hits you with a heavy dose of crushed chalk, which opens up to lemon meringue and crisp orchard fruit, which then gives way to a yeasty, croissant finish, carried from attack to finish with rippling waves of laser-focused acidity and a fine mousse of bubbles. That fine mousse and skillfully managed lees aging provides some nice body, although it's still very lively and nimble. Just... so fucking tasty. — 10 years ago
2011- gift from a friend. Excellent structure, tannins are very mellow but alcohol is still very hot. Fruit forward, possibly oxidized fruit (port-like fruit). — 11 years ago
This beautiful 2005 cab was an anniversary gift from a great friend of mine @Jeff Savigny The vintage is the year we got married. The nose is so complex and yet so subdued, it practically blew my mind. A nose full of roses, tobacco, dark fruit and licorice with a hint of molasses and vanilla. On the palate very dry, with a faint aged acidity, yet very rich and delicious. You can spend just as much time smelling this as drinking it. This was a near perfect wine and a great anniversary present! — 11 years ago
At last open this bottle for New Year's Eve with best friend! Delicious, never forget the smell so strong ... Always good! — 12 years ago

Delightful to drink. Rich, almost spicy, but in no way overbearing. Given to me by a friend, so I toasted her and her health and good fortune. — 8 years ago
Last bottle in the cellar of this vintage and almost regret opening on a burger night except, got to enjoy with a good friend. I'd give this a top ten wines I've ever had rating. Perhaps top 5. Drinking beautifully with subtle fruit and smooth silky feel. This wine was amazing...epic — 10 years ago

A delicious '89 for my friend on her 25th! Fragrant nose of dark cherries, licorice and floral notes. A full bodied, amazingly textured and elegant wine with impeccable concentration. Spice, burnt oak, black currant, cedar and earth. Such a fresh, vivacious 20 something. — 11 years ago

Our friend Rodrigo introduced this wonderful Spanish wine and it was a welcome surprise.... — 14 years ago

History of OFC dates back to 1995 when on a lark, David Swift Phinney took a friend up on an offer and went to Florence, Italy to spend a semester “studying”. During that time, he was introduced to wine, how it was made, and got hooked. A Grenache, Syrah and Petite Sirah blend. Aromas of fresh ripe red fruits with sweet spice. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry, cacao and espresso notes with sweet savory tannins, well balanced on lingering finish ending with toasty oak and sweet fruit. — 8 years ago
Was my second of two bottles. Opened the first a year ago and was unimpressed. Drank the second last night and time was its friend. Awesome. — 10 years ago
NYE 2014 pre-dinner appetizer w my lovely wife! Amazingly youthful and balanced with no signs of aging aside from how smoothly it goes down the hatch! My 1st Opus ever from a friend in OKC. — 11 years ago

I was not blessed with the greatest birth vintage for Bordeaux (1991), but luckily my dear friend fared better (1989). Red currant, raspberry coulis, cedar, and graphite - the wine is still so fleshy, round and clean, nowhere near as tertiary as I'd expected going into the evening. It's structured, but also rather open knit after a quick decant. I hope to taste this Latour again in the coming years - as I believe it has many stories yet to tell. A special wine shared with even better company - there are worse ways to spend a Tuesday night. — 8 years ago
