Good but not as great as the previous one. — 5 months ago
This has softened considerably since my last bottle several years ago. Nose is complex, with earth, cedar, cigar box, and an incense-like note. In the mouth, it’s rich but medium-bodied. The tannins that were so prominent a few years ago have significantly resolved. Entering (finally) its drinking window. — 7 months ago

Smooth and drinking nicely, but don’t think it has much time left drink now — 5 years ago
The Franciscan Napa cab is always solid at $20, but with an outstanding vintage like 2015, it really over delivers. Fruit forward but also shows some depths and complexity. Oak use is quite lavish for a wine in this price range as it spent 20 months in small French barrels with 20% new, and it shows with supple mouth feel with toffee and wood spice. But it’s not overkilled. Chewy and a bit dusty tannins. 81% Cab, 10% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec. — 7 years ago

2015 for dinner with grilled NY Steaks salt a pepper finish. Fruit on the wine complemented the fat full flavor of the beef but the harmonious touch of dried herbs and an earthiness of mouth feel came together. In a really big sensation of married flavors to hand you the real deal. Beautiful Cabernet. Great wine and flavor combination to remember. Excellent. No rush to dink this wine it has years. — 5 years ago
Loved it. A well balanced Napa cab. Big fruit but had nice balance. Great nose. Probably gets even better w another 5+ yrs. but seemed fairly mature already. Great w ribeye. — 7 years ago
Silky smooth merlot. — 8 years ago
En magnum. Exactly what Cali can should be. Ripe fruit, soft tannic structure, sweet tobacco and spice. — 10 years ago
Delicious wine. Always a favorite. — 3 months ago
Needed more time to open than I gave it initially. Bold oak and blackberry over leather. — 5 months ago
5/2025. Bold flavor and finish. Very nice to drink. — 5 months ago
1 hour decant(some fine/cloudy sediment). A splendid dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: expressive notes of dark brambly fruit, currants, floral, milk chocolate, planting soil, and eucalyptus. Taste: silky, jammy mouthcoating wine with dark plum/cherry, earth, licorice, dark chocolate, and a long graphite/coffee ground finish. YUM! — 6 months ago

This is a delicious and robust wine at Sweet T’s with Claudie and David — 8 months ago
Delicious, full bodied but not overpowering. Complimented my filet meal.
Highly recommend — 6 years ago
Hints of black pepper. Very smooth finish — 7 years ago
Low Fruit, vines grown on volcanic soil. Almost has a beautiful ash or smoke quality emerging from it, this is a wine that should age for a while, tannins are nice and exposed. — 9 years ago
This was the 2011 PH Beckstoffer Tokalon. Superbly constructed. Layers of fruit and subtle tannins. Approachable but deep and distinct. I can't wait for the opportunity to taste this again. Highly recommended purebred California Cab. — 11 years ago

Could be a 9.2 but I had it at a steakhouse and the Cali Cab - Filet combo makes all’s those wines taste better. Even without the 2+2=5 taste combo was still smooth, darkly fruited, and great. — 3 months ago
