Kelley’s Pinot Gris spends almost 3 weeks on the skins with foot treading once each day. You can imagine the resulting flavor explosion. Wow, what a bouquet, showing crushed cherry and strawberry mixed with wild herbs, yellow florals and crushed stone. It continued to open more and more over time. On the palate I found youthfully lean textures with tart black cherry, bitter herbs, zesty acidity and savory mineral tones. Drank over 6 weeks opened in my fridge and it stayed fresh throughout. Richly layered aromas and flavors of chocolates, pistachio, green grapes, and honeydew melon with floral undertones. Savory but offset by some residual sugar. Sufficiently robust for the main course. Really nice. — 7 years ago
