Excellent rum. If you get it, taste it and you ‘ll never forget — 8 years ago
Classic Sonoma can, but not Foursquare - a little more character. — 9 years ago
Still very powerful, tar and iron-laced red fruit. Very classic but somewhat foursquare, missing just a bit of flair. — 10 years ago
Drinking beautifully. The fruit is still very present and the acidity dance-on-your-tongue lively. There's a certain clarity and straightforwardness that makes me think of Old California, along with almost old-Rioja notes of tobacco and toasted spices but maybe a bit more foursquare. Tannins soft but still providing body and a reasonably long finish. — 10 years ago

Deep ruby, violets, brambly cherries, dry, rounded tannins. Herbal spicy black fruit with a spicy, foursquare finish. — 12 years ago
Something different. Bit hot and very foursquare, but not trying to be anything else. Ideal for a ragout. — 7 years ago
Heck of a Napa Cab. 15% (stated) ABV, but didn’t taste quite so alcoholic. Some earth and good black and dark red fruits. Enjoyed with a bone-in ribeye and assorted mushrooms as the main, and three assorted cheese course. Like much of California wine, just doesn’t tie into the food the way old world wines do. Still quite deep healthy colour. Quite classic cedar box , mineral and black fruits. Quite foursquare .. On the palate quite dry black current fruits, tobacco and coffee, the length is ok and it is quite elegant on the finish. Seems very Cabernet . A nice drop at the moment however — 10 years ago
Shy nose is coming on with air: honeysuckle flowers, dried apricot, very high-toned minerality. So dry in the mouth. Intensely mineral. Long and pure. Not a friendly wine though. More like demanding. Not sure that makes sense. Can't wait to see what it's like tomorrow.
Night 2: nose is all fruit: golden plums and lightly grilled peach with a faint citrus peel note. Fruit and minerals on the palate, with an unusual foursquare feel. Minerals minerals on the finish. All in a light-bodied, dry frame. Very distinctive. — 10 years ago

Classic Prüm closed nose of wet wool mixed with tropical fruit. Plenty of wet match stick sulphur, always reminds me of a swirling mix of sweet papaya and shandy bass but with plenty of clear complexity to come. In the mouth it's fairly foursquare at the mo but has plenty of promise, well defined apple & lime fruit but really needs another 5-10 years in the cellar to shine — 12 years ago
Fantastic and reasonably priced, rich and big-bodied Tuscan. Lots of wood and beef blood with a jammy component. Compelling nose of brambly dark red fruit. Leather all about, which shouldn’t surprise anyone in a wine made by Ferragamo... I’d give this a year or two to sort out, score likely to improve. This review is for the Fiji rum from the same company. Rubber, licorice, orange, and vanilla. Unlike most molasses based rum... a bit agricole like.. — 8 years ago
A lean, elegant, structured and long Bordeaux from a great year for most but a somewhat unappreciated year for Poujeaux, which has gone more modern recently. A little foursquare and "generic good Bordeaux" but there is lovely fruit still present, the alcohol is low and acidity ample, the tertiary notes are starting to come through and I find this much nicer than The Critics seem to have found it. Glad I bought a case for a song because of their low rating. — 9 years ago
Has that lovely aromatic thing that GC burgundy has that Cali pinots just don't. Firmly structured still, ruby in the glass, and perhaps a little foursquare overall for GC, but still a beauty. Some wines age like Anne Bancroft, and some a bit more like Kathleen Turner. — 10 years ago
Almost jarring the contrast, coming to this after the Rouget - so much structure and scaffolding in this one, fortunately without being foursquare. Nice contrast of blue and black berry fruit in here. With its muscle, it feels more Morey than Chambolle - this would be at home next to a Clos de la Roche, for example. — 10 years ago

Mid ruby. Black cherry, oak, dry, robust tannins, dark chocolate, dark red fruit, taut with foursquare richness. Long finish. #WestSicilyWine — 13 years ago

Lightest gold; nose went from ripe, pit fruit on opening to distinctly herbal over time; tasted of pear and a little apricot finishing with nice acidity. (Foursquare could not locate Trüffelschwein, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Germany’s second largest city.) — 7 years ago
