There is Dolcetto, and then there is Roagna Dolcetto. I have been drinking this since the 2006 or so vintage and this is the best version yet. Cheap, generous, with snap and juicy dark red fruits. Gulpable with a bowl of pasta, a harmonious pairing with sage spiked lamb bolognese. Only 12% abv!! Back up the truck and drink it right away, this is best fresh and not for aging. #roagna — 9 years ago
A full bodied rich wine that pairs great with pasta and Italian food — 9 years ago
Love this rose just to sip in the summer or is great with spicy food. — 10 years ago
Smooth and great with Italian food — 10 years ago
Fresh red fruits and flowers bucket. Drinkability 120/100 points ;) very special. Doesn't need food. Full of joy! — 11 years ago
Really, really nice, esp at this price point. Light color, nice fruit, flowery nose, serious tannins. Very food friendly and flexible. A joy. Mellowed out on day 2, but I liked it more when it was sharper day 1.

Slightly fuller bodied than most Barbera. Thyme, blueberry, and hints of pepper. Goes amazingly well with food. Try with something rustic like lamb or beef stew. — 8 years ago

Bruised red strawberry & raspberry fruit, elegant, herbal notes, tea leaf with very light balsamic and decaying fruit character. In the mouth the wine excels with dried red fruit backed up by serious tannins and plenty of acidic lift to keep it fresh and exciting but more food friendly. — 10 years ago
Great wine with any Italian food and grilled meats. — 10 years ago
Lovely fruit on the palate. Easily drinkable. Not especially complex and no real late palate. Good food wine. — 10 years ago
Surprisingly light and fruity. Works well with wide variety of food. — 10 years ago
Bright apple flavors, not too sweet with a light cirrus bite at the end. Perfect accompaniment to spicy Asian food but goes well with Ethiopian or Jamaican also. — 12 years ago
Fruit forward... slightly sweet... not dry... very drinkable. Can easily be drank without food — 7 years ago

Loved this. Great with Italian food — 9 years ago
Light garnet color bordering on delicate with fine sediment. Musty almond paste on closed nose. Tart apricot, cherry pie. Clover, allspice finish. Lingering menthol appears with time. So many more notes rise and fall with food. Soft, luscious, curious and lovely. — 9 years ago
So pure and food friendly. Bright vibrant and simply delicious. — 9 years ago
Phwew. This is a superb wine. Wife bought it 20 years ago and cellared it since then. Lots of fruit for a 22 year old wine. Good amount of tannins-sharper than a Bordeaux. Lots of aid to go with food, but I'm enough of a fan of the style and particular wine in particular to drink it after dinner. This one is a '94.
Could definitely age it for longer because it has the structure. The wine pros on Delectable also seen to indicate that 1985's are drinking particularly well right now. — 10 years ago
Lovely jammy fruit, but made with restraint. Decent complexity and nice balance , great with food. — 11 years ago
Good alone and with food — 12 years ago
