Chianti made with ancient grape varieties (including Abrusco and Foglia Tonda) using ancient winemaking techniques. Time travel by wine, thanks to archaeologist and wine-lover, Guido Gualandi. — 11 years ago
An AMAZING low cost red. Berry and currant flavor with oak hints at the end. Not feeling sulfites at all! — 10 years ago
Really liked the 2008. Burnt sugar/caramel/vanilla on the nose. Ripe, fleshy fruit. Plum/dark like a Zin. Lean but not bright. 23 from Biondivino — 10 years ago
3009 Foja Tonda is a very rare grape saved from oblivion by Albino Armani 25 years ago. Full body and taste, still in search of elegance, but aging time will help. Red fruits taste and long finish are a good plus. Very good. — 11 years ago
Profumi di erbe , leggera foglia di pomodoro si accompagna a frutti tropicali mai stucchevoli. — 10 years ago
BBQing wine for sure. Crowd pleaser. I've served this multiple times this summer during parties and it's always a hit. — 10 years ago
Foja Tonda is an autochthonous grape of Vallagarina (at the border of Verona and Trento wine region), this 2000 vintage(in blend with some Cabernet Sauv.) seems to be at top of his evolution. Mature, with wide and pleasant hints of red fruits. Elegant, long, excellent. — 12 years ago

Lots of funk but it blew off after 20 minutes. Not necessarily dark for a Sangiovese but the body has a notable density, which you wouldn't expect from a traditionally-styled Sangiovese. Seems this muscle likely comes from the Foglia Tondo grape, which is in the mix alongside Coloino (for color), Mammolo (for fragrance), and Canaiolo (to soften.) — 10 years ago
