04 was an uneven growing season, maybe a little underrated since stuck between 03 & 05...good en primeur pricing for the 04s...Got this for around $150.
1.5 hour decant (decent chunky sediment). A captivating dark crimson color with a slight bricking. On the nose: sweet red fruit, cassis, floral, cedar, smoked meat, and mint. Taste: fresh, nice acidity, good structure, med to full body wine with blackberry, dried herbs, spice box, pencil lead, with a plum vanilla medium plus finish and a little tannic kick at the end.....few more bottles in the cellar to follow over the next few years. Cheers! — 4 years ago
Really incredible nose. Super sweet and full of peaches and floral notes. Like walking through a Georgia orchard on a cool summer night. But the taste is playfully acidic and finishes dry and crisp. Still a lot of peach but you'll hear no complaints from me. — 5 years ago
Floral on the nose. Still excellent colour. A bit acidic but a long finish that goes on and and on. — 8 years ago
One of the best Nebbiolos I've had. It's got the wonderful floral tar thing going on. — 8 years ago
Floral und thickly prune raisin delish — 9 years ago
Floral aromas of roses, red fruits, dry and balanced on the palate, something like a wine in between a Barbera and Pinot Noir. Medium bodied with good acids, clean finish. — 9 years ago
I love her wines! It's floral and elegant one minute. It's bold and quietly structured the next. This is a great QPR. I need to try her Tami offerings.
Dear Vegas, buy more of her wines!! — 10 years ago
Blend of 96% Sauv Blanc with 4% Sauv Gris adding an interesting dynamic to the wine & distinctive aromas (prior to ‘18 vintage some Semillon added). Pale lemon color, citrus, tropical & floral aromas. On the palate peach, melon, herb & earthy tones, well balanced with acidity, smooth yet robust on a long finish ending rich with wet stone character. Good value! A Fav!! Very consistent! — 2 years ago
Just love this wine, just tried ‘18! Nice blend of grapes from the Bierzo Valley, the ‘18 has about 4% of perfectly ripe white grapes, 6% less than ‘17. Deep Ruby with loads of Berry fruits aromas adding some sweet floral spice and flinty notes. On the palate flavors of cherry, raspberry, and strawberry with a juicy mineral edge. Well balanced and integrated with fine smooth tannins, lively acidity and a long finish ending with oak and spicy notes. Tremendous value for such a complex wine. — 3 years ago
Best Priorat so far. Tar, floral, oak almost in balance. Good bright (young) tannins. — 7 years ago
I love this wine--a somewhat creamy and floral SB, the musque clone lends a very interesting flavor and aroma profile. Delicious with shrimp cocktail and our cheese plate, but it would be equally tasty on its own. — 8 years ago
Nice gently nutty and toasty nose. White floral character underneath, lots of intensity but perhaps a bit tight at the moment. Pretty zippy and mineral on palate, more softness of texture to come, but an awesome long creamy but fresh finish. — 9 years ago
Me likey. Perfect for a warm night like tonight. Light. floral bouquet. 2013 vintage. — 10 years ago
Among the summits of the Beaujolais is this Morgon de Foillard. Accessible to immediate pleasure but nevertheless rich deep and complex. The aromas are revealed in a sturry way, as a story. Fruity attack (red) pink floral note, iris, peony, herbaceous notes, infused. Depthensity and paradoxical lightness. In my top 5 Ever. ❤️
— 3 years ago
Very nice dry white wine, with floral notes and a bit fruity. It's almost a savory Saiturnes. Very nice. Would drink this one often. Well priced. Wholefoods — 4 years ago
A beautiful Condrieu! Very floral and mineral. Honeysuckle and fresh grass, lovely legs and an oily appearance, but it’s light and spicy at the finish. Perfect for summer and paired with fish or Asian food. — 5 years ago
My WOTN at the Charlotte Hirsch dinner, showing what proper aging can do to bring out a wine's fine points and soften its rough edges. All the elements of this wine were working together in harmony. Soaring floral aromatics, deep, rich fruits and a wonderfully smooth, long finish made this wine a real pleasure to drink. The more Hirsch I drink, the more I realize that patience is rewarded with their wines. 2011 was widely panned as a tough vintage in CA, but this 2011 was absolutely singing. — 5 years ago
Although not the flagship, can still do an off vintage darn good here. Nice structure but also elegant and depth is there. Floral nose of blackberries and black currant. On the palate cassis, acid and a bit of earth on the finish. — 6 years ago
14' E Guigal La Doriane Condrieu. An outstanding Viognier! A wine you can just sip on a hot summers day. Welcoming guests & family as they arrive to your home. From appetizers/lunch/dinner. It's one of the most versatile varietals. (my opinion)
I can smell & taste so many things in this FULL-BODIED wine. PEACHES/floral/perfumed nose. On the palate I get tangerine, peach, honey, medium oak. A little spice & well balanced acidity/minerality throughout the class. Everything I could want in a great Viognier. The Somm thinks the 13' is drinking better now? I'm certain he's right.
The 14' is tasting absolutely delicious tonight. A little more time in the bottle, might be beneficial.
(Just another thought ) California Viognier's often criticized for not having enough minerality to it ? Okay ...I can still love them all!! — 8 years ago
Delicate, floral, desiccated fruit and earth tones. Benchmark Bordeaux. — 9 years ago
Subtle fruit with a wonderfully classic texture and tannic structure. A little hot on the finish, but not surprising for a warm vintage. Doesn't have any of the distinctive floral, rose petal notes. Guessing the cola bean, anise comes from a warm vintage. — 9 years ago
A bit past it's prime, but delicious regardless. Leather and mild cigar on the nose along with subtle floral notes. Fruit flavours were very light blackberry and plum. Very warm earthy tones. Tannins were all but gone. A great way to celebrate a birthday! — 10 years ago

The 2005 Lynch-Bages is more opulent on the nose with camphor-tinged black and red fruit, desiccated orange peel and sage. With time, it develops a lovely floral component. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, bold and brassy with plenty of substance. This is no shy retiring wallflower but rather a demonstrative, almost flamboyant Pauillac with layers of black fruit laced with white pepper on the finish. Maybe it is a bit brash for some? But give this time because it will ultimately mellow. Tasted at the Lynch-Bages vertical at the château. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2023) — 10 months ago
