Nose is deep, charming and complex. In the mouth it enters with strength and bitterness which turns into herbal freshness towards the end.

2013 vintage. The second wine of La Chapelle, that is now named " Maison Bleue", but an excellent wine in its own right. At 9 years old this is absolutely gorgeous with an expressive nose of blackberries, wild flowers, pepper and leather, enhanced by a subtle smokiness. In the mouth it combines power with elegance, with pure fruit, subtle spices, silky tannins and great length. Terrific value if the mythical La Chappelle doesn't fit your budget. Good not as good as it should be but solid. — 8 years ago
Ripe berries, blue- and strawberries with tannins to supply a lattice for the seductive flavours. Elegant acidity. — 10 years ago
Earth, sweet strawberry, floral, leather, clove, acid keeps it fresh tasting, light in texture. I would drink up — 11 years ago
Young but opened nicely. Hints of cocoa and vanilla along with the nice earthy flavors of a Bordeaux. would buy — 12 years ago

A nice Beaujolais from a vintage that I don’t usually love compared to 2014/2016. Definitely better with an hour or so in a decanter to let the tannins integrate a bit more. Dark purple in the glass - darker than expected. Nice cherry aromas. Still could resolve a bit more on the finish but with a slight chill is nice. — 6 years ago

A bit dry but still good sweetness! — 7 months ago
Opened just prior to service; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. As far as I know, this was the first commercially released vintage of La Fleur de Boüard but others may be able to confirm or deny that. The 2000 pours a deep garnet color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe dark fruits: back plums, cassis, pipe tobacco, Flintstones vitamins, purple flowers, dried green herbs organic earth and fine baking spices. “Yabba dabba doo!” On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Gosh, this is in a really lovely place right now; very well balanced! Thank Andy! Drink now through 2040. — 7 months ago
Not as pepper-driven as previous vintage I’ve tasted but still enjoyable and highly quaffable. — 4 years ago
Green apple, pear, hay, sweet, sparkling, grape. — 5 years ago
Excellent second label from Château Fonplegade! Earthly, plum, spice, with licorice, coffee, tea, and tobacco notes.... I love how this wine is intense but still fairly elegant. The tannins are perfect enough to still be velvety on the palate while still delivering a nice long finish. This is the wine that brings me back to St. Emilion walking the cobblestone streets and the magnificent view from Château du Roy. Oh how I miss France...... Santè! — 7 years ago

Lightly flor aged nose (touch of nuttiness), very broad palate with stone fruits intertwined with a touch of flor aged notes, great balance — 10 years ago
This is a silkier, more elegant vintage of the Chapelle, at least relative to the 2010, which was really in my zone, as well as the 2009, which I found over-the-top, but in both cases I think there was more stuffing there than here. This would've shown better if I'd opened it with white meat or even fish or something else where a lightweight presence and loose-knit structure is called for. It's an excellent wine in that idiom but lacks some of the solidity and grip it has offered in other years. It's not imbalanced at all, and the trademark stony mineral flavors are still here, it's just a slimmer version of its usual self. — 10 years ago
