Dark, powerful 2013 Syrah from Carneros, CA and bottled by Firehouse Wine Cellars in Rapid City, South Dakota. I bought this in Keystone at a cafe/wine bar (best of both worlds). Striking aromas of oak and peppers. Heavy, chewy tannins with berries, dark chocolate and floral undertones upon the first few sips. This is a wine that grabs hold of you and lingers on the palate with a distinct taste of blueberries. Savor this bold Syrah with steak or another hearty meal. In addition, there is a sweetness that could pair well with a dark chocolate cake. A surprising wine that brought a smile to my face. — 9 years ago

Love this winery. This is a dryer wine than their Firehouse Red and we love it! — 7 years ago

Crisp apricot and lavender. Taste of summer. — 9 years ago
Ive been trying to have a theme each week. Either grape varietal or region or technique etc. this month - everything must be on sale! Found this gem for $3 off. #tempranillo will never go wrong. A nose of dark raspberry jam sans the sweetness is married to blackberry notes on the finish. Crisp to bitter on the palate and does not linger. Low acid. Little tannin. Enjoyed without food, late evening, took the edge of too many coffees from a day of work at the firehouse. — 9 years ago

Bought in Rapid City, South Dakota. From Firehouse Winery. This wine is really good. Went there and this was my favorite of all the wines. Black cherry blend with a hint of chocolate. — 6 years ago
