Nice evolution here. It's still peaking with a number of years ahead. Ripe blueberries, black plum, blackberries, raspberries, some dark cherries, dark earth & dry minerals, spice, herbs, light vanilla, underbrush, some burnt ambers and a nice long fresh fruit finish. Good length, balance and near perfect acidity. I can't recall ever having a bad bottle of Ridge. — 9 years ago
Incredibly tasty. Big but remarkably light on its feet. Viognier really lifts it up. Pretty insane for the dollas. — 9 years ago
2001 and the same number of reasons to respect this fine Margaux,
superb! — 10 years ago
This is our favorite "go to" red blend, by far- I love this one. — 10 years ago
Fruity and slightly floral with notes of cherry, berry and cassis with hints of lilac and a smooth spicy finish. — 11 years ago
As reliable as ever - spectacular bubble tasted in serious company - number 2 by a sniff! — 11 years ago
For $12, this is a pretty darn good bottle of wine. Smooth and mellow. — 12 years ago
Amazing Blend. The Messenger has two varietals. The Number 2 is more for Pinot noir lovers. — 13 years ago
Really smooth mouthfeel, great legs. — 7 years ago

Smooth! Very smooth — 9 years ago
I was skeptical at first...inky black and 15.3 ABV, but the wine is well balanced with plenty of freshness and lift. Just the ticket with tonight's daube de boeuf. — 10 years ago

Smooth nice currant up front with a gentile oak balance on the finish. — 10 years ago
Smells of cherry oak and some light tobacco. Very full bodied with some port notes actually and smooth finish. Somewhat acidic and would do well with food. — 11 years ago
Quite good. I want to tell this wine to save my number and call me in 20 years. A bit young. — 11 years ago
My sweetie said the nose and flavor was earthy, reminded her of the boa tree snake she had as a pet. That's a new one! Oh, and meant in a positive way. 15.3 ABV. Glad I got on their bandwagon a number of years ago, as they've become hot hot hot in the past few years. — 9 years ago
Superb, long lived and exquisitely balanced. Almost as good as the 59. Number 2 wine of this Latour vertical. — 9 years ago
Killer value. Awesome wine. Nose is herbal with some fruit. Palate over delivers with red fruits and baking spices in perfect balance. — 10 years ago
Supremely elegant number. '90 vintage. — 10 years ago
Very good everyday table wine — 10 years ago
An excellent Zin blend when considering the price point. Not all jammy/fruity; nor is it full blown spicy. A great value. — 11 years ago
Vanilla, cherry, raspberry and plum notes. Moderate smooth finish. Light tannins. — 12 years ago

This fairly pale ruby, tart red fruit little number struts some raspberry and cherry charm. Next it unfolds with fresh earth, tobacco and a bit of smoky cardamom spice. Fine-grained yet lightly tactile tannins, medium acidity, and barely medium body. After 10 mins, fresh rose and geranium. Well balanced, drinkable, good quality with a tart fruit, drying tannic finish. — 7 years ago
