The color is deep ruby. Raspberry jam and citrus with soy and earthy undertone aromas are complemented by a brambly, subtle meaty character.
A smooth mouthfeel glides into a long silky finish with flavors of juicy blueberry, hints of
tobacco and subtle gamey undertones. — 6 years ago
Last note covers it! Golden yellow and lovely tiny bubbles. Layered nose with notes of brioche, chalk, citrus, green apples, creamy and a touch floral. Moderate acidity (6.5/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. Rich palate with creamy elements of lemon curd, and yeast. A touch sweet as well. Looking forward to trying this with a few more years in the bottle. Long and lingering finish. Drink 2026. — 7 years ago
Firstly we wanted to thank @Martin G Rivard for sharing this bottle with us. Stunning wine and such a treat. Really enjoyed these two beauties from Mollydooker Wines!
Tasted blind, theme was either Napa Cult Wines or High End Australian, not told directly to keep us on our toes.
Darkest of the lot so far, with a deep purplish red. Rich nose of caramel, black fruits, sweet spices and a touch of heat too. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Rich, extracted and powerful on the palate. Layers of perfumed purple flowers, a bit creamy, tons of sweet spices, and dark fruits. Well balanced acidity. Insanely long finish. Drink till 2033.
The third wine, and without a doubt an insanely young Australian Shiraz. Needed the extra day for the heat to dissipate. This was decanted for three hours on day one, could have used more time. — 9 years ago

Weird and wonderful, needs air and then develops beautifully. Blossom, peach, honeyd soy sauce, savory, full of spice, complex. Very textured with high acidity and alcohol, long and rewarding — 10 years ago
Dark ruby in color. Candied cherry, cola and baking spice all gracefully dance across palate. A long, spicy finish with a slight hint of pepper is the grand finale. Nicely done. The best part? I picked it up for $25. — 10 years ago
Complex and long — 11 years ago
Ending my night with This #2 wine in the world for 2014 ranked by wine spectator stoled my heart! full bodied, high tannins, And long length flavors such as berry, and black cherry - Everyone should taste this bottle - literally everlasting love for this one — 11 years ago
This is our first Australian and it was fantastic. Cherry/chocolate notes with a surprising long finish — 12 years ago
Blue & purple fruits leap from the glass; big and bold on the palate without being heavy and syrupy...all the components present for an outstanding Pinot with some age...look forward to revisiting in a year if we can keep our hands off for that long — 7 years ago
A classic Bordeaux style blend, (older vintages omitted Petit Verdot). Aged for 19 months in French Oak. Deep purple with Ruby edges, aromas of fresh berry fruits with cedar and spice. On the palate cherry, blackberry and blueberry fruit, with sweet and savory oak notes. Drinking well for a 2015, needs decanting. Tannins were smooth and firm, with flinty cacao on the long finish. Faust wines do not disappoint, even when young. Nice! AFav! — 8 years ago
Beautiful as ever! Lemon custard and pastry crust on the nose, with hints of white gardenias and cut lime. Soft and welcoming on the entry, with fresh-cut lemons and fresh quince. Broadens into ripe, green apples and pears, and finishes in a long, acidic finish. Definitely a little muted and can cellar longer. — 9 years ago
Super dark purplish red. Layered and complex nose with notes of cassis, black cherries, cinnamon, vanilla, caramel and even more red berries. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Needed the 'Shake'. Still a bit of heat with tons of red berries, and a little graphite. Give it a long decant. Drink till 2022. (91+) — 9 years ago

New world Pinot as it should be. Intensely flavored with fresh, ripe fruit rather than oak. Sharp acid and medium body, with a long finish of that same fruit. Thanks @Derek Haas — 11 years ago

Deep purple glass with violet rim. Medium nose obscured by high alcohol 15.5% with blackberry, blueberry, tobacco, smoke, cola, vanilla and mint. On palate, well balanced tobacco, black pepper, chocolate and smoke. Young medium tannins leads to a long finish of dark chocolate, coffee and mint/pepper. At $24.99 not cheap but fair, Better in 2 years? High alcohol may downgrade experience for some. — 11 years ago
Chocolates. Fruit. Very quaffable. No.11 on WS Top 100 wines in 2012. — 13 years ago
K: I LOVE Mollydooker wines. The fruit is always supremely extracted, the mouthfeel is soft, fine and luscious- and the 2016 “Maitre D” Cabernet is nooooo exception. The ‘16’s to begin with were awesome in Australia and, from what I have had, resplendent across the board. The deep nose of this one opens up to, frankly; an explosion of fruit on the palate. The tannins are so beautifully chewy, and reveal a mid-palate that is packed with a rich and exuberant set of currant, cassis- and a velvety texture that leads gracefully to a long and juicy finish. See: 2016- good downunda. — 6 years ago
Wonderful out the gate. Full bodied and bold. Long finish. Fruit forward. Raspberry, Vanilla, cherries, blackberries, coffee, wood. Long finish. High tannins. Expecting to open up nicely after an hour — 7 years ago
This Syrah is made in conjunction with Consultant, John Duval of Penfolds fame. John has also been making his Duval private label wines since he departed Penfolds back in Barossa. Gorgeous nose of sweet dark currants, dark moist soils, licorice, smoke, grilled meats, violets and fresh florals. The palate is rich, round, thick, sexy and elegant. Blackberries, liqueured, dark cherries, cherries, strawberries, lots blue fruits, smoke, grilled meats, cinnamon, vanilla, rich scorched earth, loamy soils, touch of crushed dry rocks, liquid violets, dark fresh flowers and full, mellow acidity. The structure, length, tension and balance are drop dead gorgeous. The finish is thick, full and flat out mouthwatering and jaw dropping gorgeously sexy. Distinctive wine - amping up the cab franc pyrazinesand herbacousness, with new world fruit, all in a restrained manner. Notes of clean rasberry, graphite, bell pepper, and a very distinctive tomato note and a hint of bitter cacao. Really clean, transparent on the palate with refreshing acidity. An unlikely and incredible pairing to fresh red pasta sauce — 10 years ago

Rich dark black fruits, inky color, full body with long finish. A bit tight that could have used to open up a bit more although not necessary decant. — 11 years ago
Powerful, full bodied cab. Flavors of ripe blackberry and spice. High alcohol and long lasting tannins throughout a nice finish. Consistent producer who constantly delivers. — 13 years ago

Long decant pushes the envelope of lush and rich mountain fruit. Drinks really good now yet has another 5-8 years. — 6 years ago
