Whoa. For 35 this is off the hook. Stinging nose. Rich. Yeasty. Just awesome. Palate is even better. Rich but balanced with sick minerality and great depth. Lovely fleshy fruit tastes. But it all hangs together. Juicy as all get out. There are a bunch of 60ish grower champagnes whose tuchus this wine soundly kicks. Lyle is selling this Friday. Stock up on this I will. Best paired with Leo in The Revenant....I was instructed by the salesperson at the wine shop to let this open up for 20 minutes "to get past the hairy armpit stage" and to even decant it. Hmm okay? I think any Burgundian would disagree with the decanting bit so I just popped it and let it breathe a while. This had great structure. Oak and alcohol on the nose. Velvety on the palette with Earth and some remaining essence of oak. — 9 years ago
