Asheville - Rhubarb — 3 years ago
Heart of Tuscany. 97% Sangiovese, 3% Canaiolo. Castelnuovo Berardenga. Indigenous yeast, cement and steel vats, no filtration/clarification, no sulfates added, 13500 bottles produced, organic farming. 13th century cellars. Barnyard, truffle, plum, strawberry, funky! East-west facing vineyards. Clay-sand. — 5 years ago
Cute but a little flat. — 5 years ago
Not my favorite C. Berardenga producer — 6 years ago
At Therese BD celebration 9/18/22 le bottega del 30 Villa a Sesta. First taste of sparkling Sangiovese! Interesting stony acidic white fruited profile. Easy pairing! — 2 years ago
First decent sunshine in the garden
Weekend is on early this week
Got delivered a 6 pack split between 2017 and 2016 yesterday
This '17 is delicious!!
It reminds me a lot of a sangiovese from Radda or Castelnuovo Berardenga or even a northern brunello. Vibrant, mineral, but supported by strong shoulders that you can't notice much at this stage. Neat and precise are the violet, tobacco and licorice.
Spices, leather and cola. The fruit is between a blood orange and a raspberry. I dare to say it recalls a Soldera's Brunello. Long, young and enjoyable from now and many years ahead. — 4 years ago
Yet another Italian producer of natural wine knocking it out of the park. A polite kind of funk, smoke, resinous, dried apricots, loaminess, with a floral tinged finish that lingers pleasantly — 7 years ago
Giovanna Morganti: Podere Le Boncie. She's a fine and set apart winemaker in San Felice/Castelnuovo Berardenga. Her house is the cellar, her mystic garden the vineyard where she does home-grown her own sangiovese grapes and few others local vine variety (mammolo foglia-tonda colorino canaiolo) allowed in the Chianti Classico Appellation, with such a filial piety and discipline as they were kids in a kindergarden. "Le Trame" is the name of her A rated eldest child, a magnificent utterance of Tuscany through the wine. Here's instead, her declassified sangiovese under the IGT umbrella (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) called simply, 5 - with a touch of self-irony - which in terms of grades at the School would be C or D. I do adore this "slacker" and strapping "5" for the harshness sour inborn at the wine, a spontaneous expression of a very acidic and stoney soil too! — 9 years ago
First taste of a completely new category to me. In Castelnuovo Berardenga. After dinner with Chris/Therese Joe/Kathy. Mild almost amber color. Very aromatic nose of cardamom cinnamon five spice. Surprisingly light palate on first contact but heat does come through with a lingering earthy finish. Interesting! 16.5 ABV. — 2 years ago

Has some funk but also toasty fruit with some air — 5 years ago
Definitely improved after about 30 minutes to an hour after opening. At first did not find it that that compelling but later was more impressed - silky smooth and complex. — 8 years ago
Castello do Bossi. Nice mellow Chianti. A little on the sweet side. The 2007 is smooth and fruit forward. A very lite nose. Perhaps a little past it's prime. — 8 years ago
Stuffing was there with great tannin and acid but came across as too hot at 14.5. Alcohol very present for me — 9 years ago
