From the recently revived viticultural area of Faro in the north eastern tip of Sicily near Messina and not far from Mt Etna. Light to mid crimson in colour. Earthy savoury mineral notes with smoky red cherry. Light to medium bodied palate with a skinnsy note. A blend of the 2 Nerellos of Etna fame plus Nocera and Nero d’Avola - Sicily in a bottle! Not as wow as when I had it in Sicily but still impressive. — 7 years ago
Spicy pepper notes, great with marinara sauces. — 8 years ago
A fall must have with white cranberry — 8 years ago
A mysterious effervescence with bright cherry and red fruit notes finished with a hint of oak. Impressive delicious stuff coming out of this Virginia winery. — 8 years ago
I don't like Pinot Gris at all ... But I liked this one. — 9 years ago
Deliciously sweet — 9 years ago
Nose has dehydrated black cherry, graphite, blackberry jam, faint prune, light green herbs and touch of alcohol on the finish.
Palate has blackberry/black cherry mash, cedar, powdered milk chocolate, light savory notes (like a hint of tomato paste?) and ripe cranberry. Medium-light tannins.
Continuing on our Ravines Wine Cellars theme for today brought us to this beautiful CF tonight. Many years to go still, but in a nice spot this evening after ~3hr decant. Future bottles should be 2024+ at a minimum.
A very enjoyable pair tonight with some local grass fed beef, Denver steaks, good stuff, look it up. Slow and low on the grill until just before finishing, then off to the wicked hot side for a great sear. Know your farmer and ask for these cuts, no disappointing... We're lucky to live in a great agrarian area of far western MA and eastern NY where things like this can be found with some light stone turning. — 6 years ago
Best shiraz I've tried so far. Deep ruby red, dense, complex. — 8 years ago
Rich berry flavor. This winery never misses. — 8 years ago
Nice Shiraz! Very minerally, and spicy on the first touch. Hints of iron. Little thin on the finish. But the best wine so far in Cancun. — 8 years ago
My go to wine. I love Shiraz and this yellow tail is my favorite by far. — 9 years ago
Drank this with frozen strawberries and blueberries as a berry sangria with Jen at a campfire. It was delish on its own, and to die for with berries. Would DEFINITELY get this one again, and will be far less likely to share! — 9 years ago

By far my favourite wine. The Moscato is sweet and light with a very fruity and soft flavour. Goes down like welches white grape juice and can turn most wine haters to the dark side. I always recommend this to friends — 7 years ago
Love lychee! — 8 years ago
I'm assuming this is the Lamella. For me, this stood out among Dan's three wines. Exotic, with a good dose of spice. GW sums this up pretty well:
Hand-picked from the Stonegarden Vineyard (planted 1858) in the far south eastern hills of the Eden Valley. I’m not sure Eden Valley Shiraz gets much better than this. Black fruits, black pepper and exotic spice, sage and aromatic herbs, BBQ snags, floral top notes. Full bodied, incredible density and depth to the fruit, black fruits with a subtle mintiness, all that spice and mouth-perfume, then sheets of silky ultra-high pixel tannin, cool acidity, and superb length, with a cascade of nourishing tannin to farewell. Superb. — 8 years ago
My favorite Shiraz so far. So smooth and tasty. Love getting back into reds for Fall/Winter. — 9 years ago
Hot damn that's tasty. Sweet molasses and spice in a glass. — 9 years ago

Love this! I am a lover of Pepperjack but at between $8.50-$12 it is by far our budget friendly version. Really fantastic for the price (even for wines double the price) — 6 years ago
