Great price point. Very light — 4 years ago
Got into a northern Rhone last night. Dark purple. Youthful. Decanted for 2 hours to dissipate some of the heat from the alcohol. It opened up much better than the last bottle. It has a nice balance of peppery spice and blueberry/bramble. It also had some mint and a savoury hoisin side to it, although it notably lacked any hint of liquorice. I’m okay with that as that really isn’t my draw. It has a very well defined structure but tannins are not grippy; just pleasantly present. Medium plus acidity, medium alcohol, medium tannin. A perfect accompaniment to our night by the fire. Could easily last and suggest to most palates that they wait another 5-10+. Probably best with food. — 5 years ago

Mellow on the nose and likewise on the tongue. Rounded with hints of crisp red apple and just the right amount of dryness. I don't know that it deserves to be opened in a park square during a fire alarm. — 8 years ago
Medium-deep ruby-purple color.
Aromas of blueberry jam, vanilla,
Dry. Flavors of blackcurrant, herbal, black pepper, oak spice. Medium, smooth tannins.

Low yields in Northern Rhône 2013, but the quality of the fruit is prevalent here. Structured and well-integrated fine grained tannins at the five year mark. The nose explodes out of the glass with finesse and doused complexities. Definitive Syrah nuances of black raspberries, black plums, black olives, fresh cut violets, cracked black pepper, Indian spices, grilled and smoked meats, and stone dust. Light weight but packs a continuous release of flavors. Nose and palate changes from fruit to floral to spicy to meaty. As you move to different areas and rooms the wine changes. The more air it gets, the more meat starts hanging out. Complex indeed for a $20 bottle. Great showing. — 6 years ago
Excellent value - bright lemon acidity, green apple, perfect summer wine with food or cheese — 8 years ago
2011. Sort of a more austere cry Beaujolais: crushed rock and violets, just more rock and less fruit. — 9 years ago
