Dom Pérignon

Brut Champagne Blend 1983

9.4

Really beautiful aged Champagne, with oxidative notes complementing some subtle fruit. Still had a fair bit of fizz. Drink now as it's likely downhill from here — 11 years ago

Kistler

Cuvée Cathleen Kistler Vineyard Chardonnay 2011

The 2010 cuvée Cathleenis very pale yellow in color with green tints. It has good mineralityand again very restrained aromas I it needs to open up. Aromas are of Bosc pear and fair skin. With an undercurrent of stony minerality. Excellent acid structure. Great length. Awesome. Needs a lot of time. — 11 years ago

Barnett Vineyards

Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2012 is a fair bit riper than 2011, but shows off great structure. Ripe dark berry fruit, menthol, clove, tobacco leaf on the nose. High tannin, with acidity on the high part of medium, very long finish. Will want to revisit in 10 years. — 11 years ago

Merry Edwards

Meredith Estate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2010

One of the best we tasted at Merry Edwards. Priced fair, it drinks well now but will be perfect in 3-4 years. — 13 years ago
