Crimson in color with the slightest bit of orange. Opened up over 3-4 hours, still has room to cellar. Rustic nose: herbal notes, bloodorange, cherry, but not overly aerobatic. On the palate, is more viscous than expected, with red fruit. Tannins are there, but acidity is just as prevalent. Much better when pair with pasta. (My first Nebbiolo from this region, tasted while in Varenna). — 8 years ago

This is a beautiful Cortona Syrah - I am having the 2009 vintage. Ranges of blueberry along with well-ripped fruit and plums. On the palate it is nicely balances with tannins that makes it a perfect match to pair with red meat dishes. Was also rated by Wine Spectator and received 89
