Amazing notes and acid touches beyond most any champagne I've ever had. Great limestone acid mouth feel. — 10 years ago
15' Bevan Dry Shack SB. The palate is full of pineapple, peaches, a citrusy dream! Nice entangled of acidity & lemon peel on the back of your palate. At this price point...it can't be beaten. A few more months in the bottle, will only help it. The best Bevan SB ever! 93+points. — 10 years ago
had it for our anniversary dinner. paid corkage fee at great restaurant. even impressed sommelier one of best wines we have ever had. — 10 years ago
BEAUTIFUL color on this wine, just stunning.
The nose gives off delicate red and pink flower notes, along with cola, cedarwood and white chocolate.
This is one of the prettiest wines I've ever tasted. Pure velvet luxury on the palate with candied red cherry and balanced acidity.
Compared to the Belle Glos Dairyman pinot noir I had last month this was a good deal better. Now onto Las Alturas! — 11 years ago
Best Pinot Noir ever.....all the flavors build on each other!! — 11 years ago
One of my favorite ever wines — 11 years ago
I have tasted many 1961 over the years, this continues to be one of my favorite wines...The strange thing is that this bottle with its high necklinewas the youngest 1961 that I had ever tried, wine had an great Providence - One owner and one incredible cellar.
1961 was a magical year on the right bank; now over 50 years of age it has lost some weight but picked up elegance on the nose - wet clay, graphite/lead pencil, umami/truffle - nose candy for sure. — 11 years ago

Basically the best wine ever — 13 years ago
Dark brown color. Amazing aromas and flavors of caramel, toffee, and some orange peel. Great balance with good acid lift and a long finish. What a treat! By far, the best d'Yquem I've ever tasted. — 9 years ago
Best I've ever had — 9 years ago
This was a beautiful wine that kept getting better, even with the impressive talent that was arrayed alongside it. Red berries, some olives and cedar on the nose, it opens with lovely spice notes, a layered richness that became ever more evident as it opened. The Lafite elegance was on prominent display at the mid palate, the fruit at the core of this wine has lovely perfume and still luscious appeal. This impressive wine continued to gain depth and kept blossoming as the night wore on. — 10 years ago
Kind of the best thing ever. — 10 years ago
Hands down the best cab I've ever had. Its worth all the hype. Consistent perfection from nose to finish. This is one you take your time with. — 10 years ago
Figs. Graphite. Silky n smooth. Mature. It's the best red blend I've ever had. That was the 59. Can't wait to try the 61 — 11 years ago
Bold and big. After 1985, together with 1997 and 2004 one of the greatest vintage ever.
Definitely ready to go. Magnum as its best. — 11 years ago

Surprisingly youthful nose of luscious rich plummy baked dark red fruits and the most etheral sous bois and pipe tobacco I've ever smelled. The palate had poise and grace in its age, everything was in fantastic balance. The tannins are shockingly fine, adding the structure that is necessary to hold everything together. Simply superb. I can only hope I show as well as this when I'm nearly 65! — 9 years ago
