I am I the mood for some Pinot tonight and so I am opening some French Pinot Noir I purchased for roughly $20.99. I am very happy for this selection. The nose is has very nice aromas of strawberry, cranberry, herbal essence and wet soil. The first taste has brought out those wonderful burgundy flavors of strawberry, red raspberry, the herbal notes continue through to the finish. There are fine mushroom and cloves with bits of cinnamon and a medium acidity that brings it all the way back round to a well balanced bottle of wine. If you can find this and at this price point don't hesitate to pick it up. — 12 years ago
1988 Salon (Blanc de Blancs) disgorged in front of us immediately prior to drinking so no label on the bottle as came direct from the cellar at Salon - therefore no dosage! Medium lemon green hue. Cooked mushroom, blue cheese, Earth and rich fruits - butterscotch and vanilla essence. On palate, concentrated and broad. Great acidity - integrated fully. So fresh but there's definite power here, particularly on the finish which is relatively short as no dosage. This is a wow wine given no dosage and opened on disgorgement. Great experience. NB: with air, meaty consume aromas developed. — 11 years ago
Essence of wild cherries! — 12 years ago
1990 vintage. Fresh, weightless opulence. Wonderful mouthful on this wine. Honeyed and mineral, vanilla essence and touch of botrytis apricot. Very complete wine. Wonderful. — 11 years ago

The essence of ripe cherries and strawberries invade every nook and cranny of this wine. Extremely silky and smooth in the mouth which produces a finish that reminded me of the horizon when you are looking out from the deck of a boat, just does not quit. — 11 years ago
