Silky smooth tannins that are so elegant. Layered colors of a paint job done right , visually stunning. Vibrant flavors of cranberry, strawberries, and layers of oak throw the taste buds in overdrive. Complex variations entirely.
I'm enjoying the fruity finish with a limestone like numbing yet not astringent. I NEED ANOTHER BOTTLE! — 9 years ago
Complex variations on a California zin theme. Finishes moderately tannic and charred. Smart and fun. — 9 years ago

I wanted to dislike it. I wanted it to be over hyped. It really lived up to the hype though. Incredible nose. You know you have something special before the first sip. Caramel, scorched earth and dried fruit. But what makes it special is the length. 5 +\-minutes of varying, complex flavor variations. Truly special. — 9 years ago
5th wine of the night., How lucky are we., Carlos Lopez de la Calle is friends with Anthony and showcased his wine e as well during our Edge Hill tasting. Incredible Tempranillo., very aromatic., spicy with great structure and silkiness. We popped & poured., the bottle would have been better if decanted for 4+ hours. Very young and still wound tight. However. Promises to be an incredible vintage! We did notice sone bottle variations. — 10 years ago
Garnet Red with blue variations, over-ripe red fruits, black fruits, black cherry, pyrazines, leather, wood and spice on the nose. Confirmation of red and black fruit on the palate with hints of spice, black or white pepper and strong oak, smooth tannins and alcohol due to its beautiful aging ....this is the 2nd oldest wine I've ever tasted (2004 Rioja is the oldest). It really is a wildly beautiful thing, a gracefully aged wine. — 10 years ago
Love this wine - it is an enigma! Makes me want to drink more from Ciro. Light and translucent, glossy purple, depth develops over the hour. 2012 vintage — 10 years ago
Another stunning effort was the '11 Cambria Pinot Noir 'Clone 23'. It's was amazing to detect the subtle variations the different clones made on the aromatic and flavor profiles. This effort showcased creamy dark fruit flavors on the mouth with lush sweet tannins on the lingering finish. — 11 years ago
Matt likes this. Blue cheese, mild/no oak, soft tannins, powerful fruit, crowd pleaser — 11 years ago
One of the better "chocolate stout" variations I've ever had. Far better than Young's. (which is quite good actually) — 13 years ago
Opened up nicely. Bold yet balanced. Paired well with aged prime rib and potatoes. Well executed Israeli wine. — 8 years ago
So how to describe this wine. Looked oxidized but wasn’t. Smells like some noble rot but we know there isn’t. The wine is a total enigma. Honey, orange marmalade, almond, palate coating but not unctuous. I really enjoy it. — 8 years ago
Tart and zippy up front, moving into some nice depth. Alsace continues to be a great enigma. Love it. — 9 years ago

Great Rose equal to some we tried from Provence. — 10 years ago
A first taste of legendary geneticist Carole Meredith's wines from Mount Veeder. We had the 2011, 2012 and 2013, and while vintage variations were obvious, so was the sense of place common to all three. The 2012 is riper and broader than the leaner 2011, but classic Syrah pepper and floral notes are there. The 2013 was a touch sweet but these are wines clearly made with preservation of terroir character in mind. I'd love to retaste them with more age. Rating here is for the 2012. — 10 years ago
Loved it! Had it at Budapest. — 11 years ago
sweet at first but it goes away quick. i like it! — 12 years ago
A riddle wrapped in an enigma. Wooly lemony and tense. Chenin lovers would approve. One with which to think whilst having a drink. — 8 years ago
A bright floral nose I could just take on all night. First taste is an enigma, but the peppery heavy earthy finish really delivers. Amazing wine. — 9 years ago
Multi-fruits tastes, several variations in the mouth. Fresh. Biodynamic! — 9 years ago

Revana Cab 2001. Ripened black fruit on the nose. This is a elegant medium plus bodied Cabernet. A well structured valley floor wine. What you smell on the nose, is what you taste on the palate. A short decanting of 30 minutes. Let it open up in your class for 15 minutes. Supple light oak & acidity. A big fruit bomb now! My wife loves Revana! Drink up in the next 3/4 years.
2001 through 2007... I noticed variations in each btl/case. Is it just me? — 10 years ago

Dark fruit balanced through old oak showing light spice on the nose encouraging thought to nail a specific note but is remaining a bit of an enigma in my rock rattled head after a good day enhanced by 75 MPH Harley induced wind and the brilliance of Bose and an iPhone. Ok, back to the wine, it touches, lightly grabs spreading its dark berry mini-burst in a layered earth touched tannin slow ride making magic with some of Chapel Hill's Bin 54's straight up amazing goodness (in this case very rare filet mignon, garlic tinged green beans and almond slivers; my go to steak spot in NC). Damn, this is all so right-on! Cheers! — 10 years ago
Smooth, dry. Would drink again! — 12 years ago

WNH event number 3...new world Pinot. Such a treat to experience the many different variations of Pinot!
This was fantastic and in a perfect drinking window. Very floral showing lots of spice and pepper. Red and black fruit dominant. Smoke/charcoal finish with fig. Great bottle @Shawn R . — 7 years ago
