Perhaps the tastiest vermentino I've had the pleasure to sip...complex and lovely rosemary on the close... heavenly with crab cakes with aioli — 7 years ago
Nice fruit and light, not as much tannins, smokiness too, some baking spices maybe. Cherries definitely, not as weighty in the mouth. — 9 years ago
Ser with Dani and Justin. Love the taste and spice — 9 years ago
A Good value Cab. — 10 years ago
New project of Doug Shafer and Elias Fernandez. Beautiful Malbec - full body, lots of character, still young, probably needs more time, but definitely age worthy! Coffee beans, mocha, milk chocolate covered cherry, vanilla, sandalwood. Layers of complexity! Needs time to open up. Velvety finish. — 10 years ago
Black cherries and boysenberry! Really smooth & amazing. A great blend — 11 years ago
This wine honors long-time Shafer Winemaker Elias Fernandez and his relentless pursuit of quality. Sourced from a single ridgetop vineyard adjacent to the southern border of Stags Leap District, gravelly clay loam, sourced from a rugged and remote part of the estate, the grapes for Relentless are a blend of 90% Syrah and 10% Petite Sirah, which is a more bucolic grape than Syrah, providing for a blend that becomes an extraordinarily lush and rich wine. Aged for 30 months on 100% new French oak, deep Ruby with aromas of concentrated dark berry fruit and a hint of smoky pepper spice. Layered meaty flavors of blackberry, cherry and blueberry explode on your palate and subtle tannins relax to a nice long finish, great mouthfeel. This is certainly one of the best Syrah’s I have tasted. Will age well! — 5 years ago

Needs to open, but a complex example of Tempranillo. Fruit comes through, but filtered through oak and vanilla. — 9 years ago

Beat wow I've had in a while — 9 years ago
Better than expected. The wine of the night, even up against a few classics. Deeply brooding and masculine, loads of dark fruits, eucalyptus, smoke, earth, and tight, dusty berries. The layers keep appearing over time. The more this sat, the better it showed. THIS is why I love SLD. Bravo, Elias Fernadez. — 9 years ago
Not a wine of complexity but of drinkability. Big black fruit, blueberry, quite polished with a lick of vanilla. Tending towards a modern of Rioja, but appealing. Black cherry, creamy and mocha/vanilla. Medium bodied, smooth and decent. — 10 years ago
Had 2012. Very good — 10 years ago
A really nice light flavor with some fruity tones. From the Maremma District and great with a cheese plate and a sunny day! 6.30€. — 12 years ago
