Elena Pozzolini, the winemaker, explained that Scipio was the General that defeated Hannibal. This wine, clearly defeated all other wines tonight. Floral notes on the nose. Black fruit with a leathery texture and a long elegant finish violets and licorice. — 10 years ago

Les Huisman
This is a crazy wine. Good crazy. Brut Nature, so a little austere, but zingy red fruit at the same time. Incredibly youthful for 8 years old. I think it would be interesting to try again in say 5 years. — 9 years ago
