Great with Steak on a chilly night — 10 years ago
Beautiful tropical nose with clear hints of vanillin oak. This has serious presence on the pallet and the texture shows serious restraint that really pays off, it is so supple and perfectly delicate and fresh. Touch of granite minerality. WOW!
Seriously outstanding. — 10 years ago
Big and concentrated SB. Very Euro styled. Complex with pear, tomato leaf, mineral, and grapefruit pith notes. Atypical NZ — 11 years ago

65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Precious garnet color with purple reflexes. Slow legs. After 1 hour in the open bottle, it smells like strawberry, plum, tiny bits of smokey bacon, maybe sweet tobacco. A little meaty. Maybe minerals or pepper, something that's tickling my nose. Maybe it's just the alcohol. To me, most red wines do it. I'd say the alcohol shows a little. Medium-bodied with low to medium acidity. Some sweetness. Tannins are powerful, slightly rigid, more around the sides and not so much the oak tannins on mid-palate. The finish starts out strong with sweetness, astringency, a little bitterness. Tannin stays around very long. After 3 hours in the bottle and 20 minutes in the glass, it has developed a lot. Round on the nose with some dark fruit, wood, cinnamon and vanilla. Full-bodied, a little more sweetness and acidity, silky tannins, very balanced and smooth. Maybe violets?Shorter finish. Besides that, outstanding. 50+5+12+17+7=91 (out of 50+5+15+20+10)

The fall months are extremely frantic at the North Pole. Not only is Santa getting ready for Christmas but it's also the time he harvests and makes his wine for next Christmas. This year he is especially excited because the grapes came from vineyards that Comet and Cupid particularly seemed to enjoy. All summer long The Eight Tiny Reindeer watch and wait for the grapes to grow to their optimum maturity. Santa knows that when his reindeer are smiling it's time to pick the grapes. It seems that happy reindeer make really good wine! — 8 years ago
Bright aromas of sour red cherries, rhubarb, earthy spice and some savorury/stalky herbal qualities. Both and weight both immaculate. Supple, fluid, intense and great length. Drinking well now with develop just stating to peek through the primary fruits. Still has time. — 9 years ago
