This shining star was not eclipsed today! Smoky and yeasty with a green leather note, lemon, quince, almonds, star fruit and the memory of chive. A clean, dry ice, nitrogen aroma lingers. Brioche that transmogrifies to scone, with berry esters and edible orchid. A really nice rosé. Beautiful light salmon color. A lot like a Riesling on the nose: mineral and tropical blossoms, with just hints of strawberry, peach and cream. Pretty strong acid, but still smooth on the tongue, and a rich explosion of aromas that linger long and far eclipse the intensity of the nose. Remarkable! Made a great pairing with Indian food: the acid cut through, and the aromas on the palate fully held their own. My favorite rosé yet! — 10 years ago

Winemaker Alex Sanchez is about as nice of a guy as I could imagine. So nice in fact, he brought this amazing decade old Cru Barolo from his personal cellar to share with us... Yet again, like all of his wine, the age hardly shows. Confident and elegant, there's so much dance in this wine. It's athletic and full of finesse, but feminine and timeless. If I knew anything about ballet, I would make a ridiculous comparison to a famous ballerina...good thing I don't. — 10 years ago
