Still has some tannins providing structure, full somewhat reserved body with good clean finish — 6 years ago
This has to be my favorite wine to bring to a wine party. Barely qualified as an orange wine (skin fermented Trousseau Gris) with juicy acidity, fresh fruitiness with out showing sweetness, and aromas that are ever changing - orange blossom, oyster mushrooms, under ripe pineapple, apple skin.. wish this would stay around. It'll most likely show up in the Pax line up in the future, which I'm okay with. :) — 7 years ago
Amazing Pax Mahle — 10 years ago
Love what Pax has done over the years. I have a few bottles of his 2003 Griffins Layer... It's a beautiful wine that is probably mind-blowing at this point; however, this wine shows restraint, refinement and a sense of place. Looking forward to owning a bottle in a few years. — 10 years ago
Pax with restraint and terroir is a lovely thing, as are old Grenache vines. Right vineyard in the right hands. Good now but likely to improve. — 11 years ago
Superb experience. Excited for the outlook of more recent vintages! Pax got it right. — 11 years ago
Drinking away my earthquake blues thanks to Pax Mahle and this delicious Sonoma Coast Pinot. — 12 years ago
Wow. Surprising. Restrained. In the zone now. — 6 years ago
@pacific standard time in chicago. Best orange I’ve had in a while, oxidized on the nose, immediately salty in the palette almost like a pecorino cheese and then a smooth sweet finish like apple cider. Infinitely complex and interesting. Love — 7 years ago
Very tanic and closed off on first blush, but delicious after some decanting and some air. — 8 years ago

This was a treat. Grenache, Mourvedre, Coincide blend. — 10 years ago
After all these year still only tasty motor oil. — 11 years ago
Beautiful balance...think this Pax guy knows what he's doing.... — 11 years ago
fruit punch on the first sniff, then soy sauce, then brown butter and brown sugar all the way through. pallet is savory while still showing some fruity ness. buttery in texture. low tannin. dry. light red/pinkish beautiful color. we sat on this bottle for a few months after purchasing and i'm so pleased with it. unexpected and delicious. solid AF. $30 — 6 years ago

Pax Cuvée Christine, Sonoma County 2003. Recently started drinking Pax, but this is my first with good age. 16 years but still opened pretty tight despite decanting. Beautiful nose with lots of leather and mushroom. Great earth on the palate, with some dark red fruits and some dried red and maybe some red stone fruits. Served with Shepard’s pie, hen of the woods mushrooms, bucatini with lamb ragu, and broccoli rabe. Still remarkably young, but mellowed with some air. — 6 years ago

Had this with a nice creamy cheese and fruit/nut crackers (slightly sweet) and it was all delicious. — 7 years ago
One of my favorite northern california syrahs. This guy was pungent and leathery. I had to check the bottle to make sure i wasnt drinking a Cayuse. — 8 years ago
Beautiful! — 9 years ago
First wine we have tried from Agharta Wines and first Cabernet from Pax. Beautiful ruby red with a dark core. Great complexity and layers on the nose, starting with an attack of fresh blueberries and opens up to a few savory and tons of floral notes. Beautiful bouquet of roses, lavendar and lilac with a smokey undertone and a touch of eucalyptus. Nose just keeps changing as it opens. Overall great mouthfeel and well rounded. Moderate tannins (5/10) that is coated in red cherries and raspberries. Moderate body and moderate plus finish. A little shorter than we would have liked but very well integrated. Overall pretty good bargin at around $30 a bottle. Drink till 2021. — 10 years ago

Still plenty of life here. Shedding its fruit, but great earth and richness — 11 years ago

Wow. I would have blinded this as Syrah. So damn good. Olive , smoke ,and fruit pie on the nose. Deep macerated raspberries with olive tapenade on the palate. Rich mouthfeel, long finish make this another exciting pax wine. Love this. — 6 years ago
