This was pure, easy-drinking deliciousness from Gonon. Beaujolais-like headiness, but from Syrah. Clear aromatic evidence of some partial carbonic, surely due to whole cluster fermentation. Tannins are light and airy--this is a wine not of structure but of bounce and buoyancy. Luscious table wine at its best, and a reminder that Syrah has many compelling guises. — 11 years ago
