I’ve avoided this Rosé Champagne from Veuve Clicquot like the plague. However, time to try it.
It’s classic Rosé style but, light all the way around. It’s quaffable but, at this price point, I’m not giving up my BSR, Ruinart, Drappier etc.. There simply is no wow factor here. For me, all of their cuvées just don’t deliver the quality like other producers in and around their price points.
However, they have a beautiful property and amazing caves. — 5 years ago
Great acidity, needed to be decanted, as it warmed up/opened up it was reminiscent of great GC Chablis, pure lemon citrus, beautiful wine. — 7 years ago
Light salmon color, with a very fine mousse with strawberries & with a slight touch of flint. On the palate this champer provides wonder fruit again strawberry with no stickiness precision with a wonder mousse that makes the dance go away. Nice. For those wanting to explore Rośe champagnes good started & a decent value as compared to other Rośes. Cheers! — 7 years ago
Apparently I'm the first person to review this wine...Too sweet for me but still excellent. Memorable for the very pronounced green apple fruit flavour. An excellent final drink to toast an amazing vacation to India. As a side note, the room I'm sitting in was apparently blown up 7 years. Glad to have survived the food, ice, terrorists, and (most dangerous of all) the traffic. Now I just need to survive a 15 hour flight in economy class. — 9 years ago
NV. Arbanne, Petit Messlier, Blanc Vrais (Pinot Blanc) and Chardonnay: 25% each of Champagne's 4 authorised white varieties. Austere while creamy at the same time! Some herbaceous notes: nettles and greengage. Huge acidity. Lovely. — 9 years ago
#cuvèedumillenaire #drappier - una cuvée veramente azzeccata per il millennio ! Rara e buona ! Elegante ! — 10 years ago
Fantastic bottle of champagne that everyone enjoyed. Has a slight savoury twang but isn’t overly dry. We drank this on NYE and it was the perfect start to the party! I would certainly buy again. — 5 years ago
Fresh, acidic and citrusy as you might expect. Great texture and very drinkable now but still youthful. — 6 years ago
Dégorgé Mai 2012, this one was really interesting, like drinking wine from an antique dresser, in a good way though. — 7 years ago
Nice good in fact very good but not great. The acid and structure were there but the champagne lacked personality. Good shit none the less. — 9 years ago
Good but i have tasted so much better Drappiers . — 9 years ago
Drappier Pinot Noir Zero Dosage "sans ajout de soufre" Lovely Champagne, creamy, buttery, nut bread. Fresh, dry, long... Great!!! — 9 years ago
Yet another terrific Champagne at $33. More interesting than the Drappier hence my ever so slight rating increase. — 4 years ago
I generally like South African Syrah as I do this one but it could have come from anywhere in the west. Soft and smooth with M intensity. This description generally applies to most airline wines which tend to be chosen to be easy to like, not to offend and tend to be middle of the road. For the amount that the charge for Business Class Airfares it is not good enough to be serving wines which cost sometimes as little as $25 as Qantas does. They should all be in the $80 to $100 range. An exception tends to be Champagne - the Drappier Rose on Qatar was very good. — 6 years ago
1995 vintage in magnum (as are all these wines) with Michel Drappier and Gerard. From 3 sites in Urville in the Aube. 90% Pinot, 7% Chardonnay and 3% Pinot Meunière. 1.10 ha in total. Medium golden hue. Apricot, stone fruits, oaky notes, minerality, hazelnuts and toast. Good depth and concentration. Quite classic - not Drappier like at all. Long rich finish. Although there's a richness here, it's still very fresh and youthful. Although there's a lot of hype about this wine, it's really well made and oozes class. It might not be a block buster, but it's a classy wine. NB: the mid palate on this wine is crazy good - the gentle oxidation brings a complexity and richness to the mid palate that is very alluring and morish. I could easily finish the whole mag myself!!! — 9 years ago
Diederick Swagemakers
Blend 60% pinot noir / 40% chardonnay. Zeer jong, droog in de mond en hoog in de zuren. — 3 years ago
