A rich, full-bodied wine. It welcomes you with the deepest, darkest purple you have ever seen, almost black in color. Then, the aroma invistes you with dark blackberry, mulberry and a violet scent to a dense, firm mouthful of fruit along with fine tannins. It almost reminds you of a young Bordeaux. But then, no, as it’s spicy black pepper tingle and more violets and exotic notes come out. What would absolutely stun you is to find out was there is no oak used on this wine. The tannins are silky with time, but, make no mistake, this is a BIG wine. Often, that is achieved with oak. But here, it is just a reflection of the grapes and the touch nature of Alentejo! Unbelievable! — 6 years ago

73/13/7/5/2 blend of Garnacha, Syrah, Monastrell, Graciano and Piquepoul Blanc. Pink to red rose petal in color (it’s not just the artwork) light cherry aroma, Good tangerine-cherry-white pepper flavor consistent with two main red varietals here. Not quite bone dry but close. Nice acidity and mineral finish. Muted flavors overall but a fine wine for sipping on a hot day. Paired so well with a Bianco Verde pizza al fresco last week at Pizzeria Bianco that I went out and bought a bottle. — 3 years ago
Volcanic Verdelho do Pico (different from the Portuguese mainland Verdelho, also known as Godello in Spain) from vineyards located on 3 different islands - Pico, Graciosa and S. Miguel- in the Azores archipelago. Virtually at sea level and unusually close to the Ocean, vines grow on very poor volcanic basalt soils, surrounded by traditional stone-walled “currais” to protect them from the extreme Atlantic winds. Salty and mineral. Thirst-quenching acidity. Passion fruit. 🌋 🌋 — 5 years ago

I’m not a white wine drinker, a very distinct flavor that is very fresh. I really enjoyed this. — 6 years ago
Dark fruit, tart tannins, complex. I’d buy a case of this vintage and enjoy with a Cohiba from Havana 🇨🇺 — 6 years ago
