GL Portugal tasting 2/15/17. Nose with violets and savoriness that seemed to have opened up with time. At first more fruit driven. Palate that's really complex and yummy. More complex than'13 which suffered from a heat wave. 60% new oak and. Only 48 bottles left! — 9 years ago

Bottles in 2011 this has a very interesting coconut flakes, persimmon, apricots in syrup, stem ginger, burnt orange marmalade, iodine. In the mouth this is very balanced with some sweet stone & tropical fruit, good acidity and even rather light until the finish kicks in and with it plenty of alcoholic weight. Grilled lemons and lemon oil mingle with a lovely nuttiness — 11 years ago
