Sicilian wine from the base of Mount Etna. 95% Nerello Mascalese, 5% Nerello Cappuccio. Soft but chalky, earthy, more low tones, herbaceous but not too much. Medium body, slight rhubarb, but again- not in the way wines can be when they are too young to drink. Really lovely wine. Apparently, the winery is no longer making wine due to lack of interest from the family heirs. — 13 years ago

As I understand it, their vineyard's been purchased by Marco de Grazia from the excellent Etna label Tenuta Della Terre Nere-- so the grapes are in good hands! Mmm, Nerello Mascalese!
