Prototypical 06 burgundy. Good stuff. — 9 years ago
Excellent. At about 45 minutes of air it showed beautifully. — 10 years ago
Silky palate with cherry, mushroom, and forest floor up front and floral, tobacco, and cooling menthe notes behind. Brooding in youth, this is one for the cellar. Check back in 5-10 years — 11 years ago
The French keep the good stuff for themselves. — 11 years ago
Core of iron-like mineral. Some dark fruit and spice well integrated with the mineral profile — 4 years ago
Lars ville gi 9.1. — 6 years ago
Light on the aromas but so deep and lush with dark berry juice and spice. Added the remaining drops to the grape purée over shaved ice for dessert as well for a small touch of hedonism :) — 8 years ago
Nice intensity nose with aromas of tangerine, fresh green apples, vanilla, cream and walnuts. Very concentrated, creamy and full-bodied with a long finish. — 10 years ago
Muito bom. Borgonha classico — 11 years ago
My favorite wine from our dinner pairing. It was delicious! — 11 years ago
Held up very well for the cuvée and vintage. The acidity and tannins give it a fresh streak. A really fun wine! — 9 years ago
1999 vintage comparison of two producers. All had the complexity of the year and region. One corked Drouhin (CdV) and one corked Taupenot-Merme (MSD). But back-ups were available.
Stars included the T-M Chambolle Musigny and Charmes Chambertin with great balance and wonderful forest aromas, and the Drouhin Clos de Vougeot and Charmes Chambertin with growing richness and a touch of saline.
Some had only a brief arc of balance, but the GC's were pleasing throughout the evening. — 10 years ago

The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru is showing a little reduction on the nose; there’s some charry oak here, not quite as clean as its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine balance and finer tannins than Taupenot-Merme's La Riotte. This shows impressive delineation and elegance toward the finish, which is persistent and satisfying. An excellent Morey-Saint-Denis. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.
