Monthly 4th Friday is post Thanksgiving this year, so lots of Thanksgiving style wines!

Tight on the nose. A flavor punch of raspberries and blackberries dipped in maple bark. Very herbal and savory on the palate with acidity that is surprising for its age (in a good way). It actually tasted like a young, fruit forward CdP with black pepper, dates, and ripe blackberries. Drinking really well right now. Thanks @Keith Fisher — 5 years ago

This is a VERY pleasant surprise (at first pass, I was not sure I would love this but it really opened up). Bought this from the Secret wine fridge at FLX Wienery. After being closed off for many years, this baby needed to breathe. It's from The Rocks before it was known as "The Rocks." The funk is mostly blown off. The power is still there on the finish--which is elegant and long. The fruit is still present with conflicting red and blue fruit--esp. prevalent is dried raspberry and blackberry. The pepper is still present. The tannins are still powering through 17 years later. — 7 years ago

Beautiful and serene. Reminiscent of the Amalfi Coast, resplendent with lemons the size of one's head, looking out over the Tyrrhenian Sea and inhaling the salty air. There is a little grassiness, also, bringing this wine back down to earth from its lofty perch. Wine Gallery. — 8 years ago

Slight floral quality to the edgy sweetness and gorgeous black fruit. I suspect some co-fermentation here (Viognier). Lovely, lively, and lithe on the palate. Plenty of acids here, so this will pair with nearly any meats. Just to reiterate, this is not your typical Paso syrah (no offense), but an elegant rendition of the grape. — 9 years ago
