A little old. Showing birch chips and beechwood as the wood on the nose — 11 years ago
We were given this Chinon by our friend Igor and I thought it would be fun to try it tonight. This bottle is still quite young being a 2011 vintage but is already developing nicely. The color is a deep dark red, almost opaque. The nose has wonderful dark fruits and some vegetal notes such as green peppers. There is acidity to balance the high alcohol content so it doesn't come across as too powerful. The plums and dark berries combine with the earthy flavors quite well. The finish is medium. — 10 years ago
Great wine from perhaps the finest wine district in the world. Highly recommend. — 12 years ago
Lovely wine, spicy, a bit earthy with dark berries — 10 years ago
With my wife. The wine was pale lemon in colour and offered bouquet of flowers, citrus, peach, orange peel, almond, fresh sea breeze and mineral notes on the nose. On the palate the wine showed white flowers, stone fruit, peach, orange peel and almond, complicated by a salty mineral touch, paired with medium-level acidity, a great, buttery mouthfeel, and very good length. The medium- to full-bodied wine had good complexity and tasted concentrated yet fresh. A great Condrieu! 92 — 11 years ago

Flinty with rich acidity. Not fruity. Been sitting this for a while and it's come along well. — 12 years ago
