Just returning from a dumb phase and heavy with blackberries, pumbs, pepper, and hints of leather and oak (though not too much). 100% single vineyard Merlot. Dark burgundy in color, smell of tobacco, dried fig, dried dates, cacao, dark berries and spice, still tannic, needed more air, but is already approachable, a common trait of 2009. It is a bold wine with a long finish. — 11 years ago
